The Borg invade Vega Colony, surprising a Federation fleet in the area. Lieutenant (JG) Kanril Eleya advances to acting captain of the USS Kagoshima and marshals the survivors of the fleet into a fighting retreat, rescuing at least 400 colonists during the escape. Kanril is promoted to lieutenant and made permanent captain of the Kagoshima.
The USS Folon NCC-7587-C is attacked by an unknown enemy vessel.
