A New Ship

A New Ship is the first episode of the fan series Star Trek: Equicon. It aired on the 18th of September, 2020.

Description[]

Michael Strickland, former commanding officer of the Sicilian joins the crew of the Equicon as it's commanding officer, but things aren't going so smoothly.

The Sicilian is returning to Earth when one of it's engines starts to fail after their most recent battle. A command division Yilarian, Sem'Zar reports that their starboard engine is down, the commanding officer, Michael Strickland, orders him to cut warp power and attempt to contact the nearest ship in range, A Klingon vessel, the IKS R'rath, picks up the distress call and arrives, saying that they will tow the ship back to Earth since it is the least that they could do for their new allies.

Act One[]

The R'rath arrives at Earth and tows them to one of their docks. Strickland thanks them and the R'rath warps out of the system. Just before he enters the turbolift, his science officer Dovilog explains that the transporters are malfunctioning and they could impact his health. Strickland says it's fine, but Dovilog says that he should take a shuttle just in case. As soon as he enters the turbolift however, the bridge explodes from all the damage surrounding it, Strickland tries to pull Dovilog in but he lost his grip and he falls into space.

Strickland, arrives on Earth Spacedock, and travels to Admiral Quinn's office. Quinn has engineer Dirz Raxx explain that the damage to the Sicilian is to severe and cannot be repaired. Quinn then promotes him to captain and gives him command of the USS Equicon-A. (more to come)
