Captain Branson sits at the desk.

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Patch him to my quarters Z.

An hour later Commodore James T. Kirk appears in his office onboard his flagship on the USS Agamemnon.

CAPT. BRANSON (smiles): Jim what do I owe the pleasure of this com call?

COMM. KIRK (monitor): John what do you know about the Andorian colony of Wey'tahn?

CAPT. BRANSON: It was established in 2097 by the Andorians then the Vulcans came to the planet and forcibly removed the colonist that were there and the planet was the site of many different engagements between Vulcan and Andorian forces till 2152 when Captain Jonathan Archer signed a peace treaty to ceased the planet to the Andorians why what's going on?

COMM. KIRK (monitor): Well they're having a bit of an issue with their power core facility and you're the closet vessel

CAPT. BRANSON: Alright we'll get it done.

COMM. KIRK (monitor): Keep me posted Kirk out

Transmission ends.

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Branson to bridge alter course for Wey'tahn warp factor seven.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA (com voice): Aye, sir.

He leaves his quarters after he gets his uniform shirt on.

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

(Episode Notes: Opening Credits Fall Over Opening Scenes)

The Enterprise enters orbit of the planet.

CAPT. BRANSON'S (voice over): Captain's Log Stardate 6453.3, The Enterprise has arrived at the Andorian colony of Wey'tahn after receiving a distress call from the Andorian Ambassador for us to help with their colonies power core

EXT-WEY'TAHN, DAY

The colony is buzzing with life after the brutal Vulcan-Andorian war during the 22nd century that was halted by the efforts of Captain Jonathan Archer and the crew of the NX-01 Enterprise in 2152.

INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE CONTROL ROOM

Commander Ivanova, Lieutenant Mason, Lieutenant Commander Williams, and two engineers beam down and they turn on their SMI Beacons.

LTJG. MASON: Who turned out the lights?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Don't know but its possible they lost main power.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Steph see if you can get main power back on-line.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: You've got it Commander.

She walks over to one of the wall panels and opens it and gets out a coil spanner and starts working on getting main power back on-line, the lights turn on and they turn their SMI beacons off.

LTJG. MASON: Whoa big room.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Yeah it is a big room.

She closes the panel and trips over something and sits up and sees a dead Andorian body.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: (Screams)

Commander Ivanova and Lieutenant Mason head over to her and they see the dead body in front of her.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: What killed them?

Jack scans them.

LTJG. MASON (re: Tricorder): Unknown Commander but it seems that it was some sort of hard radiation.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Tag them for transport and have Steven do an autopsy to see how they died.

LTJG. MASON: Aye, Commander.

Jack tags both bodies.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS (re: Tablet): Whoa this is impressive.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: What is it?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: It appears to be some sort of geothermal energy readings.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: That is impressive let's inform the Captain.

They gather their stuff to beam back to the ship.

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

The Enterprise is in orbit.

INT-USS ENTERPRISE TRANSPORTER ROOM

The landing party beams back as the medical team takes the two dead Andorians off the pads.

DR. CARLSON: Let's take them to the morgue I'll keep you posted.

CAPT. BRANSON (nods): Thanks Steven.

Doctor Carlson and his medical staff leaves the transporter room as Captain Branson turns to Commander Ivanova.

CAPT. BRANSON: Z report?

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Well its a big room and it runs on geothermal energy.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Its off-line currently something must of knocked it off-line.

CAPT. BRANSON: So what can we do about it?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: We need to reactivate it but we'll need some help.

CUT TO:
INT-USS ENTERPRISE CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM

VICE ADM. OZAWA (monitor): Geothermal energy?

CAPT. BRANSON: It appears that way ma'am.

Admiral Ozawa leans back in her chair in her office on her flagship the USS Olympia NCC-7897 a Foley-Class Dreadnought.

VICE ADM. OZAWA (monitor): Interesting I've also seen in your report that your landing party discovered two Andorian dead bodies?

CAPT. BRANSON: Yes my chief medical officer is preforming an autopsy to see what killed them.

VICE ADM. OZAWA (monitor): I'll send the USS Harrison to back you up they just finished their week long shakedown, and this will be a great chance to see what the new and improved Harrison can do

CAPT. BRANSON: We'll be waiting for them.

VICE ADM. OZAWA (monitor): Very well then Ozawa out

Transmission ends as Captain Branson is thinking.

INT-USS ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE

John walks out of the ready room.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: John you need to take a look at this.

He walks over to the science console.

CAPT. BRANSON: What's up?

LT. T'LAR: Something appeared at the edge of our sensor scans.

Captain Branson looks at her.

CAPT. BRANSON: Have you ID the vessel?

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: That's the strange part just as T'Lar was about to it vanished without a trace.

CAPT. BRANSON (surprised): What?

LT. T'LAR: No tachyon emissions or a Neutron radiation surge.

Captain Branson folds his arms.

CAPT. BRANSON: Suggestion?

LT. T'LAR: Since the Andorians nor my people have the technology to shield a ship from sensors it could be that a third party is interested in our mission.

LTJG. MITCHELL: It could either be the Klingons or the Romulans.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Or someone new.

CAPT. BRANSON: Well whatever the case is take us to yellow alert and maintain sensor scans for anything out of the ordinary.

LT. T'LAR: Aye, sir.

Lights turn yellow and start flashing as Captain Branson is tensed up about the possibility of another fight with the Klingons or Romulans.

(END OF ACT ONE, FADE OUT)

Act Two[]

Fade In

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

The USS Harrison NCC-7453-A that's a new and improved Daedalus-Class vessel enters orbit next to the USS Enterprise.

INT-USS ENTERPRISE SITUATION ROOM

Monitor shows the geothermal energy as Commander Williams is briefing Captain Towe, Captain Branson, and Lieutenant Commander Clarkson.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: As you can see the geothermal energy has given the colony so much power over the last few decades since the formation of the Federation.

CAPT. TOWE: Then what disabled it?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS (sighs): According to some of the colonist a solar wave knocked it out with an electromagnetic pulse.

CAPT. BRANSON: Can it be reactivated?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Yes it will require some energy transfer from the Enterprise.

Captain Towe looks up from the PADD.

CAPT. TOWE: Can the Harrison do it?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Well I don't know the Harrison is a brand new vessel.

Captain Branson turns to her.

CAPT. BRANSON: Jamie your ship is fresh out of spacedock and was on a week long shakedown cruise, we don't want to break it if it doesn't work.

She looks at him.

CAPT. TOWE: The Harrison can handle it.

CAPT. BRANSON: Its too great a risk.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Sir, ma'am let's focus on what we can do.

CAPT. BRANSON: How long will it take?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Give me a few minutes.

CAPT. BRANSON: Get started and have Commander Clarkson help you he's got experience with these sort of things.

They both leave as Jamie turns to John.

CAPT. TOWE: John are you really that overbearing?

JOHN: Jamie your ship is brand spanking new and just came from a week long shakedown to give us a hand here.

Jamie is pacing about.

JAMIE: The Harrison is a new starship that I have command of and we have a right to do this job we've been doing this since we left spacedock!

JOHN: Alright let's say you do this transfer and what if it doesn't work what if it severely damages the Harrison?

Jamie looks at him.

JAMIE: Its a risk I'm willing to take.

JOHN: Well that maybe but I'm not willing to take that risk with your vessel Jamie.

John leaves the briefing room as Jamie is standing there and she then follows him out as well.

CUT TO:
INT-USS ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE

Captain Branson turns to the engineering station where Commander Williams and Commander Clarkson are at.

CAPT. BRANSON: Report?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Transfer beam is ready sir.

CAPT. BRANSON: Then by all means Steph transfer away.

She inputs commands into the console.

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

A close up of the Enterprise's main deflector dish sends out a energy stream to the Andorian power core facility.

INT-USS ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: The transfer beam has connected to the power facility's main generator.

Captain Branson walks over to the engineering console.

CAPT. BRANSON: How long will this take?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: A few days give or take.

CAPT. BRANSON: That should give you two time to get everyone up to speed on how to handle this thing.

They both leave the bridge as Captain Branson sits in the command chair.

INT-USS ENTERPRISE MAIN ENGINEERING

Both Commanders Williams and Clarkson enter as the engineering staff are around the large screen as Commander Williams is issues instructions to her staff in a montage.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Alright, I need everyone's attention, please. What we've got here…

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: That's right and we need to find away to power it using Geothermal energy from the planets core.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS (Frustrated): No, you're not listening to me!

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: It's not going to—

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: I'm telling you this one right here is wrong.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: The whole point here is that these numbers here need to be corrected.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Unless they're corrected—there you go. Simulation failed.

They keep running simulations that all file.

EXT-WEY'TAHN SURFACE, DAY

INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY

The engineering team are working at different consoles.

In a tube-like passageway, Lieutenant Junior Grade Young and another scientist work. Clarkson speaks to her over the com.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (To com): Carol I want you to pull the chip. Pull it when I say go, all right?

Lieutenant Young pulls the chip, and the power shuts down. Later, Clarkson is in the command access tube and Lieutenant Young and the rest of the team are in the main area.

LTJG. YOUNG (to com): I think we have it.

[Commander Clarkson puts the crystal in, and the command access tube lights up. In the lab, Carol smiles.]

LTJG. YOUNG: That's it!

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

The Enterprise and the Harrison are in orbit.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (YELLOW ALERT)

LTJG. SMITH: Commander Clarkson is hailing us sir on audio.

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): So you ready buddy?

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (Com voice) : Yeah this is a great day for me and it should improve our relations with the Andorians

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): We'll monitor from here.

Kyle nods and the transmission ends.

INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY

Commander Clarkson and his team are in position and ready.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Everything's been triple-checked. Power levels are holding steady in all computer simulations.

CAPT. BRANSON (com voice): Power it up we're watching from here

Commander Clarkson puts the com device down.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Alright. Attention, all personnel. Stand by for power-up on my mark. Three, two, one… Mark.

[The power source in the chamber powers up.]

CUT TO:
INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (YELLOW ALERT)

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Power output rising and holding steady.

Captain Branson presses the panel on his arm rest.

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Enterprise to Clarkson report?

CUT TO:
INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): Standby John, Pan talk to me?

LT. TARAK: I'm picking up some minor power fluctuations. Chamber temperature's holding steady. There it goes again.

CAPT. BRANSON (com voice): Is everything okay?

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): Everything's fine.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (YELLOW ALERT)

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (Com voice): The containment bottle was designed to automatically compensate for any sudden changes in energy output

Williams turns to Captain Branson.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS (Confused): This never happened in the simulations.

Captain Branson is looking over at the engineering console.

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Kyle maybe we should abort.

CUT TO:
INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): I said it's fine. Collins. See if you can boost more power to the field manually.

ENS. COLLINS: You got it.

Collins leaves. Clarkson makes more entries at his console, as Lieutenant Young is a bit worried.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Okay.

Collins enters the command access tube where the crystal controls are. He removes a panel. He's wearing protective glasses as the light is very bright.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (To com): Clarkson to Enterprise.

CAPT. BRANSON (com voice): Branson here go ahead

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): I think we're ready.

CAPT. BRANSON (Com voice): We're still monitoring

In the command access tube, a power wave bursts through the far wall and envelops Collins. He falls to the floor, screaming and writhing.

CUT TO:
INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (YELLOW ALERT)

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Whoa.

CAPT. BRANSON: What is it Steph?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS (Worried): Levels just spiked into the red!

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Enterprise to Clarkson Kyle we're getting something up here.

INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): We're getting it down here as well.

CAPT. BRANSON (com voice): Shut it down! Shut it all down!

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): I'm trying.

LT. TARAK: The interface is not responding.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Alright, I've already switched to back-ups.

LTJG. FLOWER: The levels are going off the scale sir!

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Its on the verge of an overload!

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: RED ALERT, SHIELDS UP!

Lights dimmed and klaxons are sounding.

LT. T'LAR: We are about 30 seconds to overload.

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Kyle get your team out of there now!

INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): I have given the command to shut down. Something's creating an overload.

CAPT. BRANSON (Com voice): Then you and your team should evacuate

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): Just give me a few seconds.

CAPT. BRANSON (com voice): We may not have that time

[The power sounds start to diminish, and Young's displays show the energy flow returning to green levels.]

LTJG. YOUNG: Wait. Wait. Wait. It's stabilizing. The generator is offline.

CAPT. BRANSON (com voice): What the hell just happened?

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): Obviously there was a surge of some kind… Look, Collin…Collins!

[They rush to the command access tube door.]

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Collins!

[They open the door to see Collins has died, his hands covered with red burns.]

(END OF ACT TWO, FADE OUT)

Act Three[]

Fade In

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

The Enterprise is next to the Harrison.

INT-USS ENTERPRISE SITUATION ROOM

Doctor Carlson is handing out PADDs.

DR. CARLSON: Officially, my report will indicate Ensign Collins died due to radiation exposure, causing severe burns to well over ninety percent of his body.

CAPT. BRANSON: But it was more than that?

DR. CARLSON (Nods): Yeah, much more. To be honest, I have no idea what sort of radiation it was. I've never seen or heard of cellular decay this massive, not when exposure only lasted mere seconds.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Ensign Collins next of kin has been notified of his death.

CAPT. BRANSON: Good what happened down there?

LTJG. YOUNG (Confused): We're still analyzing data from the test. All we know for certain was there was a massive power surge, which in turn caused the containment field to expand asymmetrically in the direction of the command access tube. As to why we're not sure.

Branson leans back in the chair.

CAPT. BRANSON: Have you found out what caused it yet?

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: No we're still going over the data.

CAPT. TOWE: Could we try again?

Both Captain Branson and Commander Chin-Riley turn to her.

CAPT. BRANSON: You want to try again?

CAPT. TOWE (Nods): Yes I do want to try again.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: A member of Commander Clarkson's team is in the morgue.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: And I am responsible for his death. Yes, I am painfully aware of that. I sent him to the facility, and I will have to live with that for the rest of my life.

CAPT. BRANSON: I'm sorry Jamie its not happening not till we figure out what happened and how to prevent it from happening again.

Towe turns to him.

CAPT. TOWE (Scoffs): Come on John we have a chance here to help them and improve relations with them.

Then the com activates.

LTJG. MASON (com voice): Captain Branson to the bridge

They leave the briefing room as Captain Towe isn't a happy camper.

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

Three Andorian warships approach both ships aft.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (YELLOW ALERT)

They enter the bridge as Lieutenant Mason vacates the command chair.

CAPT. BRANSON: This is a surprise.

LTJG. MASON: They just came up from aft.

CAPT. BRANSON: Hail them.

Lieutenant Smith inputs commands into the console and turns to Captain Branson.

LTJG. SMITH: They're responding sir.

CAPT. BRANSON: Andorian cruisers this is John Branson Captain of the Starship Enterprise what brings you guys here?

Transparent viewer changes to the bridge of the lead Andorian vessel.

CAPT. SHRAN (Viewer): We're here at the request of the Andorian Imperial Command

Branson turns to Commander Chin-Riley confused then back to the viewer.

CAPT. BRANSON (Sighs): I wasn't aware that the Andorian Military force cared that much about seeing the Federation help them in repairing a power core for one of their colonies?

CAPT. SHRAN (viewer): They are wanting to see what you can do

CAPT. BRANSON: Captain take it easy before you sprain something that can't be fixed by medical help, we're allies and we're here to help one of your colonies. But hey if you wanna watch us repair the power core go ahead and knock yourself out Enterprise out.

Transmission ends and the transparent viewer shows the three Andorian warships right behind the Enterprise and Harrison.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Chatty woman.

Captain Branson sits in the center chair.

CAPT. BRANSON (sighs): If you say so Z, if you say so.

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

The Enterprise, USS Harrison, and the Andorian squadron are in orbit.

INT-U.S.S HARRISON CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM

Captain Towe is at her desk.

CAPT. TOWE: Admiral I would like to request that we restart the repairs of the power core.

VICE ADM. HALSEY (Monitor): Captain I understand where you're coming from I do but right now we can't risk destroying that colony, I've already had to make a compromise for one colony I can't guarantee that I can make another one for this colony should the repairs turn into something bad

REAR ADM. TUCKER (Monitor): We can't risk playing it safe anymore Alan we don't know if the Klingons will attack us again should they see that we're not getting upgrades by our most trusted ally

FLEET ADM. PERRY (Monitor): Let's not panic here alright we're not going to let the Klingons catch us by surprise like they did last time at the Battle of The Binary Stars in 2256

VICE ADM. OZAWA (Monitor): Don we shouldn't do this behind Captain Branson's back he'll never trust us again

VICE ADM. HALSEY (Monitor): We'll have to think about this before we can decide we'll contact you when we know what we want to do Halsey out

Transmission ends as Captain Towe isn't thrilled.

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

A close up on the Enterprise.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE CAPTAIN BRANSON'S READY ROOM (YELLOW ALERT)

Captain Branson is going over reports that Lieutenant Commander Williams has given him about the situation planetside, suddenly his old friend Kyle Clarkson bursts angrily through the door without knocking.

KYLE (Frustrated): What the hell are you thinking?

JOHN (Confused): Kyle I....

KYLE: You know this mission is important for improving peaceful relations with the Andorians.

JOHN: Ky--

KYLE: Who put you in charge, anyhow? The crew of the Harrison is more than capable of completing this mission without the oversight of amateurs?

JOHN: KYLE SIT DOWN!

Kyle, stunned but still angry, sits.

JOHN: Any other Captain would not tolerate your insubordination, but you are my best friend and I at least owe you an explanation. (Sits behind his desk and takes a deep breath to calm down) The Enterprise was given this mission by Commodore Kirk, not the Harrison. Harrison was brought in merely to assist. As such, I have the final say not Captain Towe.

KYLE (Snarled through gritted teeth): May I speak freely, Captain, sir?

JOHN (Dryly): If it will help you calm down then yes.

KYLE: You've based your decision to end this mission on misinformed and uneducated information. Handed to you by the most incompetent group of engineers I've ever met.

John leans back in the chair behind his desk as he and Kyle are calming down from yelling at each other.

JOHN: Kyle, Commander Williams and her team have tons of information and experience with these type of things.

Kyle leans back in the chair.

CUT TO:
INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN ENGINEERING (YELLOW ALERT)

Commander Williams is working at one of consoles reviewing the power core.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Burke what do you make of this?

CREWMEN BURKE: It looks like a power relay was fused.

Then Commander Clarkson enters.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Commander Williams a word?

He walks out of the engine room as Stephanie follows him.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE OUTSIDE MAIN ENGINEERING (YELLOW ALERT)

She joins him.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: What is it Commander?

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: What the hell were you thinking going Captain Branson?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Well after what happened to Ensign Collins a member of your team it was my recommendation that testing the power core isn't a good idea it could result in the destruction of not only the facility but the entire planet.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: I AM IN CHARGE OF THE TEAM ON THE SURFACE.

He saw a pair of officers walk by then turns back to Williams.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: This thing could improve our relations with the Andorians and you want to take it away from us.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Commander I respect your job and that you are one of the best engineer but right now we don't need another death on our hands.

She heads back to Engineering as Kyle folds his arms and leaves.

LTJG. SMITH: Commander we're being hailed by the lead Andorian vessel.

Commander Ivanova gets up from the Captain's chair.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: On screen.

Transparent viewer changed to the bridge of the lead Andorian vessel.

CAPT. SHRAN (viewer): Where's Captain Branson?

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: He's busy at the moment I'm Zhasa Ivanova first officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise what can I do for you?

CAPT. SHRAN (viewer): Just to let you know Commander that the Andorian Ambassador is watching this

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Great we work well with an audience.

Commander Ivanova turns to sit in the Captain's chair as the transmission ends.

LTJG. MASON: So we're being watched by the Federation Council members and member worlds.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Pretty much Jack so we better not mess this up.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM (YELLOW ALERT)

VICE ADM. HALSEY (monitor): I know how you feel about this John believe me

CAPT. BRANSON: Sir Kyle lost a man in the first try.

VICE ADM. HALSEY (monitor): The Federation Council and your cousin the Federation President thinks this could strength our relations with the Andorian government

Captain Branson folds his arms.

CAPT. BRANSON: She got to you didn't she sir?

VICE ADM. HALSEY (monitor): Captain Towe made a very important case to continue the tests get it done Captain Starfleet out

Transmission ends as John is a bit annoyed.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE SICKBAY (YELLOW ALERT)

Doctor Carlson is treating crewmen for some minor wounds when T'Lar enters.

LT. T'LAR: My daily physical you said it was overdue.

DR. CARLSON (Smiles): Alright then.

T'Lar sits on the bio-bed and Doctor Carlson starts scanning her with his medical tricorder.

DR. CARLSON: Any dizziness or issues?

LT. T'LAR: None.

DR. CARLSON: How about meditating?

LT. T'LAR: I have been meditating before bed each night you know that.

He reviews the scans.

DR. CARLSON: Are you sure T'Lar because I'm picking up high synaptic activity, I'd like to run a cranial scan, just to be safe.

T'LAR: Steven?

STEVEN: T'Lar I'm worried about you and I'm sorry if that's an emotion but as your husband I have a right to be worried.

T'LAR: I have not been meditating much with us being on important assignments I have not had time to do it, but am I doing alright?

DR. CARLSON: Besides the high synaptic activity you've got a clean bill of health, I'll just give you something to help with the headache.

He gets a hypo and injects her with it.

T'LAR: Thank you Steven.

T'Lar gets off the bio-bed and leaves as Steven is worried.

INT-U.S.S. HARRISON CAPTAIN TOWE'S READY ROOM

Captain Towe is looking out the window as the door chimes.

CAPT. TOWE: Come.

Doors opened and Captain Branson enters holding a PADD.

CAPT. BRANSON (Annoyed): What the hell is this?

He puts the PADD on her desk.

CAPT. TOWE: The Admiralty wants us to continue the repairs of the power core.

Captain Branson paces about.

CAPT. BRANSON: Jamie this is going to blow up in our faces and risk EVERYTHING we worked on to improve our relations with the Andorian, this is my mission MY MISSION! You are just frustrated that I shut it down.

CAPT. TOWE: Cause you're not thinking straight John.

Captain Branson paces about some more and then turns to her.

CAPT. BRANSON: Jamie you're not thinking straight admit it you want this weapon.

CAPT. TOWE (Nods): Yes. I do. A weapon that could effectively eliminate the Klingon and or Romulan threats is very attractive to me, and to the people that we work for. I'm not hiding that fact.

CAPT. BRANSON: I'm not risking my ship and crew just because of something that you think will it eliminate the Klingon and Romulan threats?

CAPT. TOWE: John think about it if we power this core for the Andorians we can have them as an ally true their treatment of females isn't right but we're not here to judge an ally.

CAPT. BRANSON: I understand that you want this to improve relations but there's times that I have to protect Kyle from himself and I'm not about to let him do something that he's going to regret.

CAPT. TOWE: John I'm sorry for going over your head but you left me no choice.

CAPT. BRANSON: Look I can watch him I've done it since we've met at Starfleet Academy.

CAPT. TOWE: John watch him I can't lose another officer.

Captain Branson leaves.

CUT TO:
INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY

Ensign Travers the team EPS expert is at one of the stations and walks over to Commander Clarkson and hands him a PADD, when Captain Branson beams down.

ENS. TRAVERS: CAPTAIN ON DECK!

The team except for Kyle snap to attention.

CAPT. BRANSON: As you all were.

They resume their work.

CAPT. BRANSON: Can we talk somewhere in private.

They leave.

INT-BACK AREA OF THE CONTROL ROOM

They stopped.

CAPT. BRANSON: Jamie went behind my back.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: What do you mean?

CAPT. BRANSON: She went behind my back and contacted Starfleet Admiralty and they gave her permission to resume working on the core.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: John this could be the biggest discovery since the creation of warp drive, and this could help us defend ourselves better against the Klingon, Gorn, Tholians or the Romulans.

CAPT. BRANSON: Kyle you lost a man how many more have to die before you realize that this maybe out of our reach I'm trying to keep you from yourself.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: John I appreciate it but I don't need your protection.

Kyle walks away from John as he follows.

INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY CONTROL ROOM

Branson and Commander Clarkson's team hook up computers to the Andorian equipment.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (Very confident): I appreciate your support, John, but don't worry. I try to make it a habit not to make the same mistake twice.

CAPT. BRANSON: That was a joke right?

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: No. I offer you my personal assurance that a surge like the one that happened before is inconceivable.

CAPT. BRANSON: Alright then.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Alright let's get this baby back on-line.

CAPT. BRANSON: Do it.

At the main station Commander Clarkson is inputting commands into it.

CUT TO:
INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM (YELLOW ALERT)

Commander Ivanova is sitting at the desk as doors chimed.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Come.

Doors opened and Commander Williams enters holding a PADD.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Commander I need to speak to you right away.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: What's wrong?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS (Re: PADD): I've finished going over the accident data. I think I know why the Andorians abandoned this technology.

She hands Commander Ivanova the PADD and she looks at it and has a shocked look on her face. INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (YELLOW ALERT)

Commander Ivanova and Commander Williams walks onto the bridge as she turns to Julia.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Julia hail the facility.

LTJG. SMITH: Aye, Commander channel open.

Zhasa goes to the command chair and activates the com.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA (to com): Enterprise to Captain.

INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY

Captain Branson gets out his communicator and opens it as it beeps.

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Branson here go ahead.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA (com voice): Is Commander Clarkson with you?

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): I'm very busy getting ready to run a test here what's up.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (YELLOW ALERT)

LTCMDR. IVANOVA (to com): Actually I would like you to delay the test firing.

CAPT. BRANSON (com voice): Why??

LTCMDR. IVANOVA (to com): We have reason to believe that the weapon's power source—it may not be controllable at any power level.

CUT TO:
INT-ANDROIAN POWER CORE FACILITY CONTROL ROOM

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): Commander Williams!

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS (com voice): Commander

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): Okay, we have been over this. I am doing this manually, at half power. It's a cakewalk.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (YELLOW ALERT)

LTCMDR WILLIAMS (to com): Commander this isn't a cakewalk alright I've been doing calculations of my own, and I believe the very act of trying to contain vacuum energy from our own space-time creates an environment where the laws of physics cease to apply.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (com voice): What the hell are you talking about?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS (To com): As power output increases, new and exotic particles are continuously created and destroyed inside the containment chamber, interacting with each other, and with the field itself. Eventually, particles are created that cannot be predicted in this space-time. And they breach the containment field as hard radiation.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (com voice): You can't predict what's going to happen Commander so but out

INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY CONTROL ROOM

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Z how about we contact you after its finished.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA (com voice): You better Enterprise out

John walks over to Kyle who turns to him.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: I won't let you down John.

Captain Branson gives him a hard look as Commander Clarkson starts giving his team orders.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Pan begin the restart sequence.

LT. TARAK (Nods): Aye, sir.

Lieutenant Tarak inputs commands into his station.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Bo disengage the transfer beam from the Enterprise.

ENS. TRAVERS: Aye, sir.

Ensign Travers inputs commands into the console.

ENS. TRAVERS: Transfer beam disengaged sir.

He then turns to Lieutenant Junior Grade Sonya Young.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Sonya bring the containment generators back on-line, and Guillemo begin the start up sequence.

LTJG. YOUNG: Aye, sir.

LT. GUILLEMO: Aye, sir power core is at forty-one percent and rising sir.

ENS. TRAVERS: Power is at one hundred and twenty percent and holding steady sir.

Everyone celebrates as John pats Kyle on the shoulder.

CAPT. BRANSON (Smiles): Great job Kyle.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (Sighs, nods): Thanks John I had a feeling this would work.

In the containment chamber, the power source pulses. The sound grows louder.

CAPT. BRANSON: What's that?

Kyle walks over to his console.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: An energy surge. It's fine. I can regulate it.

His display shows temperatures moving into the red area.

CAPT. BRANSON: I thought you said you got it under control.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Pan try to see if you can vent some of the heat from the chamber.

LT. TARAK: Aye, sir.

Tarak inputs commands into one of the consoles.

LT. TARAK: I'm locked out?

LTJG. FLOWER: Same here sir.

The display shows the temperatures continuing to rise.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (becoming concerned): Levels are continuing to rise in the chamber! This shouldn't be happening Sonya engage emergency power.

LTJG. YOUNG: On it sir.

Lieutenant Young inputs commands into the console as she's working her console erupts in a massive shower of sparks sending her back injuring her as Tarak treats her.

CAPT. BRANSON: SHUT IT DOWN!

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: I got this John!

CAPT. BRANSON: Its overloading just like last time Kyle you're good but not this good now shut it down that's an order.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Alright Pan decouple the power conduits from the primary systems.

LT. TARAK: On it sir controls still not responding sir!

Captain Branson flips open his communicator as it beeps.

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Branson to Enterprise we've got a problem.

(END OF ACT FOUR, FADE OUT)

Act Five[]

EXT—WEY'TAHN, DAY

The Andorian defense weapon sitting on top of the building is swinging and firing energy bursts into the sky.

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

One of the Andorian warships takes several bad hits and explodes in a fiery ball as debris flies from it and destroys the other Andorian vessel, but the Enterprise, Harrison and the lead Andorian Warship and the remaining Andorian cruiser was able to get their shields up or like the Enterprise and Harrison.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)

Klaxons blare as the crew watch in horror as the three Andorian vessels are destroyed.

LT. T'LAR: Three out of four of the Andorian vessels were destroyed Commander.

LTJG. MASON: Deflectors are holding Commander.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Julia hail the Captain.

LTJG. SMITH: I'm trying Commander but there's no response!

WHUMPH!

LTJG. MASON: Deflectors down to seventy-one percent.

Commander Ivanova is a bit worried.

INT-ANDROIAN POWER CORE FACILITY CONTROL ROOM

WHUMPH!

CAPT. BRANSON: What was that?

ENS. TRAVERS: The weapon's discharging to prevent a catastrophic overload.

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Branson to Enterprise we need an emergency beam out right now.

CUT TO:
INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)

CAPT. BRANSON (com voice): We're...power....surge...transport

LTJG. SMITH: The radiation from the core is making communications hard Commander.

Commander Ivanova contacts the transporter room.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA (To com): Bridge to transporter room Chief Mackenzie lock onto our people and beam them back to the ship now.

CUT TO:
INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE TRANSPORTER ROOM (RED ALERT)

Lieutenant McKenzie is working on the console, and then activates the com panel on the station.

CHIEF MACKENZIE (to com): I've got a partial lock on them but I can bring only two up at time, then I'm going to have to reset the buffer.

WHUMPH!

CHIEF MACKENZIE (to com): But I can't transport with the deflectors up we'll have to lower them for transport.

CUT TO:
INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)

LT. MASON: That's too risky we could end up like the three Andorian warships.

LT. T'LAR: The needs of the Many Outweigh the needs of the few or the one.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: We've got to try something.

ENS. CARLSON: Commander if I may I think I maybe able to get us out of their weapons range by doing a few maneuvers that aren't apart of the Starfleet flight training.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA: Do what you have to Kara.

ENS. CARLSON: Aye, Commander.

Ensign Carlson inputs commands into the helm station.

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

The Enterprise approaches the atmosphere as the weapons energy blots lance through space.

INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY CONTROL ROOM

LT. TARAK: We need to get Sonya to the nearest medical area her wounds are bad.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (nearly shouting): What did I just say? The weapon is firing at random targets above the planet. This is the safest place to be right now.

CAPT. BRANSON: This place isn't going to be safe much longer come on Kyle.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: I can bring it back under control. Just give me a second.

[Branson grabs Clarkson by the vest and swings him around.]

CAPT. BRANSON: No you can't Kyle we got to get out of here now that's an order.

Kyle yanks away and turning back to his computer.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: One second!

CAPT. BRANSON: Kyle I've seen this before remember when we were onboard the AJax's and Ensign Coleman thought that she could control the ship's IDF systems and her console exploded severely wounding her.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA (com voice): Enterprise to Away Team

Captain Branson flips open his communicator.

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Z we can hear you better what's the beam out status?

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)

LTCMDR. IVANOVA (to com): Well we had to use a few tricks that Ensign Carlson knows in order to lower our deflectors to beam you guys up we're currently sitting above the core facility, we're using a scattering field to mask our signature so it won't pick us up and blast us out of the sky.

INT-ANDORIAN POWER CORE FACILITY CONTROL ROOM

Coolant is venting as the engineering team and Captain Branson are starting to cough.

CAPT. BRANSON (To com): Take Tarak and Young inform sickbay to have medical teams on standby there's incoming injured.

Both Ensign Tarak and Lieutenant Junior Grade Young demartializes.

CHIEF MACKENZIE (com voice): Ready for two more

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): Take Travers and Guillemo!

Both Travers and Guillemo dematerialized when a huge shower of sparks erupt from the ceiling and power hums.

CAPT. BRANSON (Coughs): What the hell was that?

Lieutenant Flower goes to one of the consoles and reports.

LTJG. FLOWER: Its a coolant leak in the power core we've got just a few minutes till it breaches!

CAPT. BRANSON: We're out of time we need to leave now!

Lieutenant Flower gets most of the gear and heads to the shuttle bay.

CAPT. BRANSON: Come on Kyle we need to go!

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (coming to a relation): Okay, we need to leave. I've waited too long. The weapon can't discharge enough power to avoid a catastrophic overload. This whole planet is going to go up.

Kyle gets his computer and they head to the launch bay.

EXT—WEY'TAHN, DAY

[The weapon continues firing in all directions destroying buildings and transports that are trying to escape to orbit.]

INT-SHUTTLE CANOPY

They rush to the main seats as they sit in them as Lieutenant Flower is in the Engineering seat.

CAPT. BRANSON: Let's skip the pre-flight checks and let's get the hell out of here.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: You need to avoid flying in predictable trajectories to prevent the weapon locking onto us.

CAPT. BRANSON: I'll keep that in mind.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: I'm just saying, be sure not to fly in a straight line.

CAPT. BRANSON: Just hang on.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: John I'm sorry man I'm so sorry I thought that the core was working right.

CAPT. BRANSON: Hey its ok man people make mistakes and this one will be fixed one way or another, we'll come back when its safe.

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: We can't.

John turns to him.

CAPT. BRANSON: Why not?

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Look, don't you understand? This explosion is going to take out the entire planet, we have to get out of the sector.

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Branson to Enterprise.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA (com voice): We see you Captain we're right behind you

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Open the shuttle bay doors we're coming in hot!

LTCMDR. CLARKSON (to com): Inform the colony that they need to evacuate the planet now.

LTCMDR. IVANOVA (com voice): We've been trying to but they're not responding the interference must be blocking coms'

CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Kara as soon as we're aboard engage warp in any direction.

ENS. CARLSON (com voice): Aye, sir

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

Branson maneuvers the shuttle through the debris field, the weapon firing all around them as they're approaching the three vessels that are trying to maneuvers from being hit, as the shuttle enters the bay.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)

Doors to the turbo-lift open and both Captain Branson and Commander Clarkson enters as Captain Branson sits in the Captain's chair.

LT. T'LAR: The planet's core is starting to destabilize sir.

CAPT. BRANSON: Julia try hailing the Andorian colony main hall.

LTJG. SMITH: I've been trying to sir no response.

Lieutenant T'Lar looks at her console and reports.

LT. T'LAR: Sir the core is starting to meltdown.

CAPT. BRANSON: Ah crap Julia have all ships break orbit and prepare to engage their warp drives we'll run interference Jack divert emergency power to aft deflectors.

LT. MASON: Aye, sir.

LTJG. SMITH: Aye, sir.

EXT-WEY'TAHN ORBIT

The three ships move from the planet as the Enterprise is right behind them as its taking hits from the turret and all they enter warp as the Enterprise's nacelles power up and they leap into warp just as the entire planet explodes.

CUT TO:
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)

CAPT. BRANSON: Report?

LT. T'LAR: The planet has been destroyed.

CAPT. BRANSON: Did any other vessel make it out?

LT. T'LAR: No, sir.

Captain Branson hangs his head.

CAPT. BRANSON: Julia inform Admiral Garrett of what has happened, Kara set course for Earth.

LTJG. SMITH: Aye, sir.

ENS. CARLSON: Aye, sir.

CAPT. BRANSON: I'll be in my ready room Z you've got the bridge.

Commander Ivanova sits in the Captain's chair as Captain Branson walks into his ready room.

EXT-EARTH ORBIT

The Enterprise enters orbit of the capital of the United Federation of Planets.

INT-STARFLEET COMMAND BOARD OF INQUIRY

Lieutenant Commander Clarkson is standing on a platform as Vice Admiral Halsey, Fleet Admiral Tucker, Rear Admiral Alice Ozawa, Commodore Austin, and the head of the Starfleet Corp of Engineers Commodore Bradley Johnson are in their chairs in front of a table.

VICE ADM. HALSEY: Lieutenant Commander Kyle Clarkson you are being charged with the murder of 1,209 Andorian Colonist on the world of Wey'tahn, Starfleet JAG officer Commander Eliza Wells has been assigned to be your defense attorney how do you plead Commander?

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: Not guilty Admiral I did nothing wrong.

VICE ADM. HASLEY: Let's being.

INT-OUTSIDE THE BOARD OF INQUIRY ROOM

John is checking his dress uniform adjusting it when he's stopped by Ensign Zack Allan and Lieutenant Alicia Wells.

CAPT. BRANSON: Stand aside I'm late to the trial.

ENS. ALLAN: I'm sorry sir but you can't enter.

CAPT. BRANSON (Confused, shocked): On who's orders?

LT. WELLS: Commodore Johnson's sir.

CAPT. BRANSON: I am a Starfleet Captain I'm here to help my friend.

ENS. ALLAN: I understand that sir but I have my orders that you can't pass its for people with level 10 or higher clearance level.

Then Commodore Kirk shows up.

COMM. KIRK: John?

John turns to see his former commanding officer and friend.

CAPT. BRANSON: Jim?

COMM. KIRK: John at ease you two I'll handle this.

He pulls him aside.

COMM. KIRK: What are you doing?

CAPT. BRANSON: Jim what the hell is going on? Kyle's trial has been classified??

COMM. KIRK: Calm down John before you sprain something, yes his trial has been classified by orders of Starfleet Intelligence John don't push it further or you'll end up in the brig they take these things seriously.

John paces about then raises his hands up.

CAPT. BRANSON (Sighs in frustration): Fine.

He leaves as Jim looks at John as he leaves.

CUT TO:
INT-STARFLEET COMMAND BOARD OF INQUIRY

Lieutenant Junior Grade Morgan Flower is in the stand.

LTJG. FLOWER: Commander Clarkson tried his best but it was too late the coolant leak got worse and worse till Captain Branson ordered us to evacuate the control room.

CMDR. SHAW: And you say that Captain Branson ordered you to go?

LTJG. FLOWER: Yes, ma'am.

CMDR. SHAW: How could he do that he's a Captain of Starship Commander Clarkson is your commanding officer, but that's neither here nor there we're trying to get to why Commander Clarkson should be charged with murder.

VICE ADM. HALSEY: Commander Shaw I believe you made your point.

CMDR. SHAW: I rest my case.

She walks back to her side as Commander Wells gets up.

LTCMDR. WELLS: Lieutenant Flower how long have you served with my client?

LTJG. FLOWER: For three years ma'am my teacher at Starfleet Academy recommend me to him and he assigned me to the team.

COMM. AUSTIN: Thank you Commander Wells we'll reconvene at 1630 for a verdict.

EXT-EARTH ORBIT

The Enterprise is in the dry-dock.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM

Doors chimed.

CAPT. BRANSON: Come.

Doors opened and Lieutenant Commander Williams enters holding a PADD.

CAPT. BRANSON: Steph please tell me you got something?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS (Re: PADD): I'm sorry sir but I've found this its the data on the power core I found some sort of program in Kyle's station and it looks like it caused the overload.

CAPT. BRANSON (Re: PADD): What? No he would never do that he worked to stop it.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Sir I don't know why you're having me search the data for his innocents.

CAPT. BRANSON: Cause he is Steph haven't heard of innocent to proven guilty?

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: But the data doesn't lie sir.

CAPT. BRANSON: I don't want to hear it get back to work on figuring out what happened.

LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Aye, sir.

She leaves the ready room as John looks out the window of his office.

CUT TO:
INT-STARFLEET COMMAND CENTRAL BOARD OF INQUIRY

Commander Clarkson is standing at ease.

VICE ADM. HALSEY: Is there anything you would like to say in your defense before a sentence is rendered?

LTCMDR. CLARKSON: I didn't do anything to those colonist sir I've been apart of this great organization and I am or I was proud to have a purpose other then work in my parent's farm, and now that could be in ruins but I am innocent and I didn't kill those colonists and to the families of those colonist if they're watching this from Andoria I'm sorry.

COMM. JOHNSON: It is our ruling that the defendant, Lieutenant Commander Kyle Clarkson, be stripped of rank and hereby dishonorable discharged.

Commander Clarkson is shocked by this.

EXT-EARTH ORBIT

The Enterprise is in dry-dock getting worked on.

INT-USS HARRISON-A COMMANDER CLARKSON'S QUARTERS

Kyle is packing his stuff when the doors chimed.

KYLE: Come.

The doors opened and John enters seeing him packing.

JOHN: Hey I just came from Sickbay and Sonya is gonna make a full recovery uh where you heading are you planning on seeing family?

Kyle turns to him.

KYLE: No I've been discharged dishonorably charged with neglect and murder of one thousand twelve hundred and nine Andorian colonist that's what happened.

JOHN: What did they at least get a look at the sensor logs?

He turns to him.

KYLE: Most of the Admiralty wanted to look at them but the head of Starfleet Corp of Engineers Commodore Johnson discharged me from Starfleet that's what happened and where were you?

JOHN: They wouldn't let me enter it was a closed board of inquiry at the orders of Starfleet Intelligence, it was only for higher ranking officers.

He finished packing zips up his duffel bag and puts the strap of his duffel bag on him and leaves as John is shocked.

INT-U.S.S. ENTERPRISE CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM

COMM. BRANSON (monitor): I'm sorry John but there was nothing that I could of done

CAPT. BRANSON (Sighs): Dad Starfleet is all he knows if he goes back home his father will put him to work at their farm.

COMM. BRANSON (Monitor): John I know but we had to do something to keep the Andorians from leaving the Federation

CAPT. BRANSON (Frustrated): Just because we need their weapons upgrades to combat the Klingons or the Romulans that's a scapegoat father.

He turns to the monitor off as the doors chimed.

CAPT. BRANSON: Come.

Captain Towe comes in as John gets up and walks over to her she punches him in the face.

JAMIE (Pissed off): YOU SON OF A BITCH!!

JOHN: Ok I deserved that one.

She punches him again.

JAMIE: KYLE JUST LEFT STARFLEET!

JOHN: Jamie calm down alright.

JAMIE: Don't you tell me to calm down John he was your friend and you left him to be ripped apart by the board of inquiry at Starfleet Command.

JOHN: Jamie I tried to enter the trial but they wouldn't allow me to it was a level-10 or higher clearance.

Jamie calms down a bit.

JAMIE: Why did they do that to him?

JOHN: Its due to our alliance with the Andorians and their weapon and deflector upgrades to combat the Klingons.

Jamie calms down and folds her arms.

JAMIE: Its not right John.

JOHN: I know Jamie I know wait were you and Kyle?

JAMIE (Nods): Yeah.

JOHN: Wow I never knew.

JAMIE: What are we going to do?

JOHN: I'm not sure Jamie.

John leans on his desk.

JAMIE: We've got to prove that he didn't do this to the Andorians John.

JOHN: And we will Jamie.

JAMIE: I'm sorry I punched you.

JOHN (smirks): Its alright you've got a mean left hook you know it will be impossible for the Enterprise to return to the scene of the crime but if the Harrison could do it then the sensor data that you'll send us will be encoded and I can have Lieutenant Smith and Lieutenant T'Lar decode it.

JAMIE: Why can't the Enterprise do it?

JOHN: Cause we're too well know by the Andorians and it would raise alot of questions as to why the Flagship of the Federation Fleet is searching through a debris field of a planet, and most of the Admirals don't like the fact that I'm in command of the Enterprise and not someone like Decker or Mason.

JAMIE (nods): Alright I'll do it and we'll send it to you.

Jamie hugs John and he hugs her back.

CUT TO:
INT-STARBASE ONE DOCKING HATCH

Kyle heads to the transporter and unknown to him he was injected with something and the hatch closes.

EXT-SPACE
