The Alliance of Gamma Quadrant Planets was an interstellar alliance of planetary governments from the Gamma Quadrant, including representation from colonies of the Federation and the Klingon Empire, that mutually agreed to exist as a unified interstellar entity to share their knowledge and resources in peaceful cooperation, scientific development, space exploration and defensive purposes and based on the principles of universal liberty, rights, and equality.
The Alliance spread over 150 light years, mostly on the far side of the orifice of the Gamma Quadrant terminus of the Bajoran wormhole. As of 2385, it is composed of 14 member-worlds.
History[]
Within a month after the start of operations of Station DSG1, diplomatic delegations from 11 star faring races arrived on the station and established full diplomatic relations with the Federation, among them were the Rigarrans, the staunchest allies of the Khronnians in the Gamma Quadrant.
The Alliance was formally established after the signing of the Treaty of Abraxis. The treaty was jointly facilitated by the Federation, the Klingons, the Khronnians, and the Rigarrans.
Station DSG1 became the seat of government of the Alliance. Each ambassador was given an office and a residence, together with two designated diplomatic attaches and a diplomatic staff of six.
