The USS Discovery (NCC-12231) was an Ambassador-class starship launched in the 24th century just after the Battle of Wolf 359. The under the command of Captain Jonathan Granger, the Discovery completed a six year mission in the Beta Quadrant. The Discovery was recalled for a major refit in time for the Dominion invasion. The Discovery had seven major encounters with the Dominion before the ship was destroyed with the loss of over hundred crew men at the battle to retake Deep Space 9.
