Station Fronter, orbiting Coronalis IV | |
Coronalis IV is the fourth planet in the Coronalis System, which is located in between the borders of the Alpha Quadrant and the Beta Quadrant, at the edge of Federation space nearest to the galactic core. It is a colonized class M planet that is rich in forest and plant life as well as in natural resources.
Coronalis IV is orbited by the Immense-class space station Station Frontier, which is manned by a crew of 10,000 Starfleet personnel and is resided upon by 50,000 civilians.
Coronalis IV is also the location of Coronalis Base, the primary support installation of Station Frontier, which is manned by a crew of 5,000 Starfleet personnel.
Coronalis IV is also where the Coronalis Frontier Fleet Yards is located, which is one of the largest shipyards ever built by the Federation and Starfleet and where almost all of the starships of the Vanguard Fleet and Vanguard Command were constructed.
Planetary defense[]
Aside from the defenses provided by Coronalis Base and Station Frontier, Coronalis IV itself is protected by a network of automated self-replicating orbital weapons platforms adapted from Cardassian technology, which were defended by regenerative force fields and equipped with three heavy phasers and 500 high-yield photon torpedoes each. The regenerative deflector shielding of these platforms protect them from return fire, rendering them nearly invulnerable. The whole network is powered by three large redundant generators, each placed in different hidden locations in the system.
Colony[]
Located on the largest continent of the planet, just north of its equator is Frontier's Edge a vast paradise-like Federation colony with a population of 5 million. Over three dozen satellite colonies with populations between 50,000 to 1 million stretching over three continents are connected to it by massive, multi-lane trams over land and sea.
