D'Tan was a male Romulan who participated in Spock's Romulan-Vulcan reunification movement as a youth before helping to form the Romulan Republic in 2409. He also served as the first Proconsul of the Romulan Republic.
Biography[]
D'Tan was raised on Romulus by rather liberal minded parents. They taught him about Vulcans and their shared history with his own people. He even learned the Vulcan language. Due to this upbringing, D'Tan was a staunch supporter of Ambassador Spock and the reunification of the peoples of Vulcan and Romulus.
Miraculously, D'Tan and several other members of the underground survived the destruction of Romulus in 2387. After struggling to survive in the tumultuous Star Empire for more than two decades, D'Tan entered into an alliance with the Reman Resistance leader Obisek to establish a new colony named Mol'Rihan, or New Romulus. In 2409, New Romulus became the capital of a new Romulan nation, the Romulan Republic, with D'Tan as the first Proconsul. He continued to honor the memory of Spock by making peace with the Romulans' traditional enemies, the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire.
