Egum Sarai is a male Human Starfleet officer in the 24th century. He is known as a venerable and wise starship commander, specializing in inter-racial dispute resolution. He is an uncle of Dalit Sarai, formerly of Starfleet Intelligence and of recent the first officer of the USS Titan.
As of 2385, he held the rank of Captain and was assigned to Task Force Perseverance and Abraxis Command, serving as Commanding Officer of the Steamrunner-class Heavy Frigate USS Hatamoto, under the overall flag command of Rear Admiral Razal Gibran.
Task Force Perseverance is a special unit of Task Force Dauntless, which is one of seven task forces comprising the Vanguard Fleet. Abraxis Command is a field division of Vanguard Command operating in the Gamma Quadrant beyond the Chamra Vortex from the terminus of the Bajoran wormhole's far end.
