The Emergency Intelligence and Reconnaissance Hologram (EIRH) was a development from the Emergency Medical Hologram (EMH) and the extension Emergency Command and Conn Hologram (ECCH) concepts. It was part of the Emergency Holographic Complement of the fleet carrier classes and the heavy battleship classes of Starfleet.
History[]
The EIRH was developed simultaneously with the ECCH in 2380, after tests have shown that the other departments of a Starfleet facility or starship could benefit from an emergency holographic program as much as a Starfleet sickbay or infirmary did with the EMH.
Capabilities[]
Essentially, the EIRH was a 'backup intelligence officer' and a 'backup reconnaissance officer'. Via a mobile emitter jointly developed by Daystrom Institute, Starfleet Research and Development and the Soong Foundation and distributed to the flagships of Starfleet that an EIRH in its holographic complement, it was intended to gather information behind enemy lines during battles or wars, and perform other missions as 'search and destroy', and 'search and rescue', among others in the event that the current intelligence and reconnaissance crew would be incapacitated for some reason. The EIRH possesses over 3 million intelligence and reconnaissance subroutines from the intel and recon databases of all the leading Intelligence Officers and Reconnaissance Officers in Starfleet, and could incorporate them into its plans for performing its missions.
Vanguard Command[]
There was only one (1) EIRH in the Emergency Holographic Complement of the fleet carrier classes and the heavy battleship classes of Starfleet and of Vanguard Command. In all other starships, there were no EIRH in the Emergency Holographic Complement.
