Onra was a Maledian female who was the governess and legal guardian of Synall, the future head of state of Ixmix XI. She believed the answer to curing a sick patient is to kill them rather then heal them.

When it was time for Onra and Synall to return to the planet, they went aboard the USS Valentine, she was concerned about Synall's safety, made sure the engineering core was properly fixed, requested to kill D. Stephens because he had a disease and when the request was not met, she turned into her true form, a giant raging beast. And she also threatened Richard Green to stay away from Synall, saying that he was a bad influence on her after the two fell in love.

Later after they arrived, Harrison Newman told her that she was a worthy adversary. She said that hopefully they will fight again, but on the same side. She requested asylum on a Federation starbase, not needed anymore. (TNA: "Shapeshifters")

Her old lady form was played by Claire Rowe, her teenage form was played by German model Madison Werner, her creature from was played by Pauline Bentley, and her true form was played by Don Gibbs who received no credit for his appearance.

According to the script, Onra is Synall's grandmother.
