The second offshoot of the Delta Flyer, the Flyer-class was intended as a multi-purpose craft along the lines of a large heavy duty shuttle.

The Flyer-class was built to be 21 meters long, 12 meters wide and 5.3 meters high.

In combat situations, it was used as a scout ship. The ship is roomy and fast enough to do interstellar trips. The hull of the Flyer-class was highly aerodynamic, and was composed of tetraburnium alloys with duranium reinforcements and parametallic plating.

Onboard tactical systems[]

The ship carried 6 dual-mounted Type-VII phaser banks, 2 Type-VIII pulse phaser cannons, and 2 variable-use mini-torpedo launchers. It has a payload of 18 quantum mini-torpedoes and 2 quantum torpedoes ensconsed in its ventral torpedo pod.

Propulsion[]

Equipped with the enhanced warp drive of the Khronnians, Flyers assigned to Vanguard Command could attain and sustain a normal cruise speed of Warp 7 and a maximum sustained speed of Warp 8.5.

Accommodation[]

The layout was fairly conventional - a large four-person cabin occupied the forward compartment. The engineering section was located in the larger aft compartment, which could also fit two pairs of stacking bunk beds, a small cargo bay, a retractable biobed, and a two-person transporter, along with the various systems usually associated with a vessel of this type.

Ships Commissioned (Vanguard Command)[]

There were dozens of Flyer-class crafts in each of the field commands of Vanguard Command.
