A homeworld is the origin of a species, if they come from a planet.

In most cases, the species is named after the planet they originate from. A few examples:

Some species' names are in a different language to that spoken widely by the planet's population. One example is Earth: the Latin name for Earth is Terra, and the "second" name for Humans (not used as much, except in the mirror universe), is "Terrans".
