The Imperial Federation of United Worlds (briefly called the Imperial Federation of Planets in its early years) is the Central Space Defense Military and Exploration Division of the Human Celestial Empire and one of the largest allied imperial governments within the Milky Way Galaxy. So far, as of current, the Imperial Federation consists of 250 central members and 1,040 smaller members spread throughout all 4 quadrants of the galaxy.
The Imperial Federation was so technically advanced compared to its prime universe counterpart that Starfleet technology wouldn't reach near the same level of defense as even a standard Galaxy-class vessel until the late 31st century.
History[]
The Imperial Federation was created/founded in the 24th year of the reign of the Imperial House of Sato in 2152 mainly as an interimperial defense coalition against any possible galaxy spanning interplanetary threats in the future.
The Imperial Federation before the organization itself had even existed at 1st only consisted of only 2 central members the Human Empire and the Romulan Star Empire (and then later the Klingon Galactic Empire) who only had aligned solely for the mutual defense against the Vulcan Imperium a powerful interstellar power broker at the time that conquered countless worlds without mercy
It was due to the assistance of the Federation ship USS Enterprise-C which accidentally entered this reality in mid 2160 that both led the Imperial Federation and it's allies to victory and created a massive almost anachronistic level of military technical power that led the organization to be one of the largest interstellar superpowers for centuries.
After victory over the Vulcan forces and a growing realliance with some of the Vulcan's former allies. The Imperial Federation over the next few years developed from a mainly military branch of the Martian Empire to a space exploration powerhouse reaching far into the Milky Way and several neighboring galaxies with the local cluster.
Interestingly the IFUW managed due to their advanced propulsion technologies to both travel and create alliances with multiple non-humanoid based species in other galaxies, while Starfleet up to the 3rd millennial era has yet to travel extensively outside their home galaxy, with only a few ships sent out or accidentally traveled to any outer galactic neighboring regions.

The main Allied structure of the Imperial Federation mainly consists of several occupied planets by the Human Empire (starting in 2065) and several other integrated Interstellar Empires and alien military organizations.
