Jett Reno was a Starfleet officer in the 23rd Century. She was rescued by the USS Discoveryearly in the Federation/Klingon War which led her to assist to ships engineering only years later to become the ships chief engineer.
Due to a multiversal crisis in 2400 that reached multiple variants and timelines of the Federation Reno along with other prominent scientific figures made a series of monumental discoveries to control the crisis.
Most noted of which was the discovery and connected device creation of Quantum the sub atomic energy within a layer of subspace known as the "quantum vacuum" utilized by the Q Continuum to create and extract elements to give them their God like abilities.
The development of technologies that countered some of Q's manipulation of events earned her high regard of several science academies from multiple universes and species.

At some point during the War, she survived the crash landing of the Hiawatha and managed to sustain injured crew members for ten months and eleven days before being rescued by a landing party from the Discovery in 2257.
