Early life[]
John Tyson was born in 2345 in San Diego, Califorina on Earth. His mother was Admiral Sasha Tyson. John moved to Starbase 39-Sierra along the Romulan Neutral Zone during peace time with the Romulan Star Empire while Maria was stationed on Klingon outpost Narendra III. While on a mission to keep the treaty enforced, the outpost suddenly came under attack by four Romulan warships. The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-C attempted to save the colony but was destroyed in battle with all hands, while, on the outpost, his mother was wounded.
Starfleet Academy[]
In 2360, at age 19, he entered Starfleet Academy and met a woman named Michelle Robinson of Red Squad. She was studying tactical simulations when Cadet Tyson walked into the room and they first met. The two worked together to find the weakness in a Jem'Hadar attack ship that was discovered by them, and both received commendations with high honors by Admiral Leyton.
USS Hood[]
In 2365, after he graduated from Starfleet Academy the newly commissioned Ensign John Tyson was posted aboard the USS Hood under the command of Captain Robert DeSoto, and posted as the conn officer and was present when the ship dropped off Tam Elbrun to the USS Enterprise-D. And he got to meet several different species during his posting on the USS Hood.
