Carlson was born on Earth on April 1st in 2343 and wanted to join Starfleet from an early age.

Starfleet Academy[]
During her senior year at Starfleet Academy Kara played on a parrises squares team which made it to the collegiate finals.
USS Galaxy[]
During her tenure there she was recruited by Captain Nicolas Simms to a position on the USS Galaxy as assistant conn officer.
USS Sovereign[]
In 2371, Ensign Carlson was posted to the USS Ares under the command of Captain William Telford and served her ship as the best helm officer in the fleet next to Lieutenant junior grade Tom Paris, and she made a lot of new friends like then Commander Marcia Taylor and Ensign Dorian Collins they workout together and talk about their mission.
