The Khronnian Suzerainty is the government of the Khronnians, a race of technologically humanoids from the Gamma Quadrant which share genetic similarities with the Klingons.
The Khronnian Suzerainty governs an area of space that is 500 light years across, encompassing 34 inhabited star systems. Its closest borders to the Gamma Quadrant terminus of the Bajoran wormhole is 8 light years away.
First Contact with the Khronnian Suzerainty by the Federation through Rear Admiral Razal Gibran a few weeks after the reopening of the Bajoran wormhole. A treaty of mutual defense, science and technology, and trade was signed. This treaty included allowing Starfleet to establish an orbital space station and a planet-side installation in the Abraxis System.
After the signing of the treaty, the Khronnian Suzerainty assigned the 36 starship strong 24th Defense Fleet to help protect the Abraxis System and the borders of the Suzerainty facing the wormhole.
