Luna was the name of the sole moon orbiting Earth, the third planet in the Sol system. The human race referred to Luna as "the Moon" for many centuries.
The first men landed on the moon in July 1969.
The moon was colonized in the late 21st century. Mining operations took place at this time. Two of the well-known cities were Tycho City and New Berlin.
Omega universe[]
Following the Earth-Klingon War, (2160 - 2164) a defense station was established on Luna to coordinate the global defense systems.
