Memory Beta was the second in a series of facilities built as part of the Memory Project that collectively housed the Federation's extensive information library. It was created specifically for the study and catalogue of data regarding exobiology. A dedicated and complex computer network facility, Memory Prime, controlled and administered Memory Beta.
