Any Story is eligible for adoption if it meets the following criteria:
- The story is incomplete and/or does not have a definitive conclusion.
- The original author has not made any significant edits to the story in at least 6 months (make sure to check page history).
- The story does not have any quality content - basically, a summary with no story.
- Contains incomplete chapters/episodes and/or filler pages.
Once a Story is found eligible for adoption, admins will add the {{adopt}} template.
- As a courtesy, any user wishing to adopt the Story must leave a message on the original author's message wall notifying them of the adoption.
- If no discrepancy is received within 7 days, the user wishing to adopt may remove the {{adopt}} template and begin editing.
- If the original author does not wish to have the Story adopted, they must place a {{construction}} template in place of the adoption template.
The original author may choose to put their Story up for adoption by adding the {{adopt}} template. Any eligible Story created by an unknown/IP user does not need to follow these guidelines and can be adopted by any registered user.
