Naming ArticlesStory EditingFormattingImagesTemplatesDeletionsCopyright

Unlike a wikia based around a collaborative, encyclopedic effort, Memory Gamma allows users to write their own fanon and fan fiction stories, so they are the authors and (for the purposes of this wikia) owners of their own pages. The editing policy covers what kinds of edits you are allowed to make to other users' pages without their permission.

You may not add, remove, or change story details from a page you did not create unless you have permission. You also may not use or link to someone else's story as part of your own without the author's permission.

The only edits you are allowed to make are as follows:

  • Categorizing the page.
  • Correcting spelling.
  • Correcting grammar.
  • Reverting vandalism or spam.

If there is something more extensive (such as lots of spelling/grammar errors, style or formatting issues, etc), users can place the {{copyedit}} template and identify the mistakes in the Talk Page. One of the administrators will further investigate any stories marked for copyedit and may assist with correcting any issues identified.

If you believe that your story is being used or altered without your permission, please contact an administrator and they will review and resolve the situation.

Stories or fan fiction should be placed in the "Story:" name space. This will distinguish your story from main articles. When creating a new story, the title should be entered in the following way:

[[Story:Title of story]]

Narrative pages, such as chapters or other story segments, are to be placed on a subpage of the fan fiction's entry. When naming subpages to contain narrative text, use the original article for the overall work of the parent page. For example, Story:Star Trek: Discovery/Cloud of Earth is a narrative subpage of Story:Star Trek: Discovery.

Templates help an article to make a good impression, as well as save time when creating references.

To make use of a template, insert {{template}} into the article page approximately where you would like it to appear, substituting the name of the template inside the {{ }}.

When creating a story, make sure {{nav story}} is placed at the top of the page.

The two main templates used for Stories are {{nav}}, and {{sidebar story}}.

Linking Story pages within other articles can be done using the {{s}} template.
