The Meson disruptor also termed scientifically as a Anti Quantum Magnetic beam or more colloquially by Imperial Starfleet officers as a Terran Phaser was the primary energy weapons system for the Terran fleet for over 300 years and later became the standard primary weapons system for the Imperial Federation of United Worlds in the early 25th century, replacing Pulse phasers as a basic defense system for the imperial fleet.
System function and operation[]
The main functional property of the disruptor is for the weapon's beam to bombard Gluons, Mesons, and various forms of "Exotic Quarks" and either disassemble them with explosive force or passively dissipate typically on mechanical hardware rendering it harmless.
The disruptor acts upon the strong nuclear force resonance frequency that creates the attractive energy that allows sub-atomic particles to join or come closer together to become full atomic elements and either the weapon "reverses" the effect of the force or attraction of the "magnetic" particles or forces the particles connection apart via focused accelerated particle collision with baryonic matter.
The weapons effect either completely atomizes or energetically ignites physical matter. The reason for naming the weapon Meson is due to the weapon used to mainly focus on the destruction or disruption of strong nuclear forces generated by Mesons which mostly exists more in organic matter than that of Gluons and exotic quarks which more so exists in rarer forms of both energy-based and solid non-bodily tissue or inanimate based matter.
Originally just as Phaser or photonic devices the disruptor is placed in a semi-crystalline emitter which was installed into the "wing" sections of Terran fighters. Just as wing-mounted weapons on Klingon or Romulan ships the emitters fire either a focused straight beam or short semi spherical rapid fired energy bursts.
The emitter's energy core is a malleable semi-solid mass of Baryonic matter encased in a layer of heavy gravitons that help focus the fired stream of matter in a manner similar to similarly ejected baryonic energy from either white or brown dwarf stars.
