Praetor of the Romulan Star Empire |
The Praetorian Guard (Rihan: Morairi ih'Fvillha) was an honor guard unit of the Romulan Star Empire. The unit was commanded by the Praetor of the Romulan Star Empire and served as the personal guards of the Preator and the Senate.
History[]
Organization[]
The Praetor was the commander in chief of the Praetorian Guard. Two divisions existed in the Guard: the Tal Prai'ex, comprised of warbirds and naval personnel, and the Rei'karansu, comprised of army personnel and planetary transports.
Tal Prai'ex[]
The division followed the regular chain of command within the Imperial Star Navy, however, their orders could be countermanded by any ranking member of the Imperial Household or the Praetor. They served as elite escorts of starships deemed important by the Praetor and all commanders of the Tal Prai'ex were expected to provide regular intelligence to the Praetor.
Rei'karansu[]
Serving as the honor guard unit within the Romulan Star Empire, the Rei'karansu were the elite of the Romulan warrior class. They were commanded only by the Praetor and served as bodyguards to Romulan officials and prominent individuals.
