Rachel Judith "Judy" Clarke was a human who was part of one of the underground music organizations of the 25th century, and later served on the USS Admonitor as chief medical officer.
Early Life[]
Rachel was born in 2380 on Earth. She studied medicine at Starfleet Academy and became an RN at the age of 19.
Musical Career[]
Rachel chose to take her singing seriously and therefore joined one of the many underground music organizations that kept outlawed music alive in the 25th century (outlawed music being that which was deemed as "socially backwards").
The Maquis[]
From an early age, Rachel sympathized with the Maquis and rendered help to them whenever possible. In her adult life, she worked as an underground member, alerting their resistance cells to Federation movements in their area.
The USS Admonitor[]
Sometime after the New Insurrectionists declared their independence from the Federation in 2405, they became allies with the Maquis. During that time, the Federation began executing Maquis for their "treason against the Federation". Rachel was targeted and fled to the Badlands outpost to keep safe. When the New Insurrection came in truce, asking the Maquis for aid, she volunteered to join the Admonitor crew. Captain Young allowed and integrated her into the crew of the USS Admonitor as chief medical officer.
New Insurrection[]
Clarke's entry to the crew of the USS Admonitor was marked by a very interesting turn of events involving several actions of questionable morality: the cloning of Marja Djurhuus using DNA of the recently-deceased L'taL Shield, transferring the embryo-offspring of Leo Shield and Yare' Liin from Captain Young's uterus into her own.
Despite her actions, she was also one of the greatest skilled medical minds of the 25th century; this was one of the reasons, aside from her gender, that Young refused to have her removed.
Trivia[]
- Clarke is the only enlisted member of the USS Admonitor to wear the 2373-style uniform. All others wear the 2285-style uniform, or something based on their racial origins in the case of non-Humans.
