The Second Fleet is the second permanently operating fleet in the Federation Starfleet.
History[]
Admiral Maximus Hunter first espoused the concept of a permanently operating fleet of the Federation. Over the course of several years, Starfleet had organized ten fleets.
A few months after the formation of the First Fleet, the Second Fleet was organized.
Vanguard Command[]
As of 2385, the Second Fleet was assigned to Sector 001, together with the First Fleet, and its primary mission was to protect Earth and the headquarters of the United Federation of Planets and Starfleet Command (Vanguard Command).
