The Starfleet Expeditionary Medal is an award of the Federation Starfleet. It was a descendant of the United States Navy Expeditionary Medal.
"The medal will be awarded," reads the Orders, "to the officers and enlisted men of Starfleet who shall have actually landed on foreign territory and engaged in operations against armed opposition, or operated under circumstances which, after full consideration, shall be deemed to merit special recognition and for which service no campaign medal has been awarded."

- Commander Amnell Kree, CAG of the USS Abraham Lincoln, was awarded the Starfleet Expeditionary Medal, along with the Starfleet Citation for Conspicuous Gallantry, in 2374. These were awarded for landing on Chin'toka II during the Federation Alliance invasion of Chin'toka to rescue her subordinate Ensign Apria, who had been shot down during the battle. During this rescue she killed three Jem'Hadar with her sidearm.
