The crew of the USS Pioneer continues their scientific explorations in the second season of Star Trek: Infinite Voyages. By 2368, much of the animosity that expressed itself among the crew has transformed into mutual respect and reliance. But when one of their own is threatened when a routine away mission goes wrong, Captain Quinton is faced with a difficult choice and Lieutenant Adriana Watley's skills as new Second Officer are tested.
Everyone's loyalties are tested when a mysterious visitor, apparently on assignment from Starfleet to investigate the crew, arrives suspiciously soon after an unexpected romance blossoms. But will he find more targets? Also, a new officer joins the crew and befriends Robert Dalton, leading him to examine his life after his wife's death.
