Avritarsi zh'Varhil (also Tarsi Varhil or just Tarsi) was born in 2250 and was the First Officer of the USS Marvel. She fought in the Battle of Caleb IV and in the Iconian Wars. Like many Andorians Avritarsi's name had to be shortened to make it easier for Humans to pronounce. She was sometimes referred to as Commander Tarsi instead of using her formal clan name.
History[]
Tarsi was born in Harbortown, Cheshras on Andoria in 2250, she has at least two other siblings. As a child Tarsi nearly died in an accident but was saved by a mysterious Humanoid figure known as The Other, this inspired her at a young age to join Starfleet so that she could help others who couldn't help themselves.
At Starfleet Academy, Tarsi made many friends such as Loreck Avery, Telles and Btat. Tarsi excelled in all of her classes due to her academic mind, but decided to go into the tactical department instead as she felt she could help the most people this way. many Captains in Starfleet were impressed by Tarsi's skills and sought her to join their crew.
In 2270 Tarsi was assigned to the USS Starkiller as acting security chief under the command of Captain Isaac Garrett. After Garrett was promoted to Admiral, Tarsi took the position of first officer of the Starkiller, at the rank of Lieutenant, and fought many battles with it, most notably the Battle of Caleb IV, where he was presumably killed saving Federation forces from the Klingons.
In reality Tarsi was saved by Temporal Agent Daniels and taken to 2409, were he aided in the construction and testing of new starships, including the USS Bajor. Loreck rose quickly through the ranks becoming a Commander by September of that year. (NHZ: "The Starkiller")
In 2429 Tarsi is given command of the USS Kumari Kandam on the orders of Fleet Admiral Evaan Verlaine. Ishrel th'Iresreq was chosen as her replacement on the Marvel. Tarsi sought many good officers to join her new crew and embarked in a continuous mission into the Delta Quadrant, leading Starfleet's first full-scale exploration of the region.
