The USS Bat'leth was a Sovereign-class Federation Command Cruiser in active service to Starfleet during the late 24th century.
Vanguard Command[]
The USS Bat'leth was launched in 2384 from Coronalis Frontier Fleet Yards and was commissioned on 2385. It was assigned to the Vanguard Fleet, the mobile arm of Vanguard Command.
As part of Vanguard Command, the USS Bat'leth's capabilities included:
Offensive capabilities[]
- Type-XII phaser arrays.
- Mark-XII pulse phaser cannons.
- A full payload of Khronnian enhanced high-yield photon torpedoes, which were almost powerful as standard quantum torpedoes.
- The capacity to launch quantum torpedoes and transphasic torpedoes, the latter only as a last resort.
- A diverse and combat-modified complement of auxiliary crafts.
- A 10-man Starfleet Commando Force for special away team missions and even black ops mission.
Defensive capabilities[]
- Enhanced and redundant structural integrity fields, which exponentially increased the ship's ability to maintain the integrity and shape of hulls and bulkheads against the extreme stresses caused by warp fields, weapons, and other motion.
- Ablative hull armor and ablative armor plating, which rapidly dissipates the energy impacts from directed energy weapon fire and makes the ship endure massive weapons fire even after its shield have been overpowered.
- Enhanced, regenerative, redundant, reinforced, multiphasic, multispectrum, unimatrix defensive shields, which protects the ship from energy weapons and torpedoes for an exponentially longer duration and makes the ship's hull capable of withstanding extremes of temperature and pressure.
- Microdiffracted carbon hull coating that absorbs all visible radiation that fell upon it, making it as black as the space it moved through.
- A sensor stealth system which masked the ship's warp signature and helped avoid detection during covert operations. Custom-designed warp coil insulators reduced its energy signature almost to nil. As long as radio silence was maintained, the ship could cruise unnoticed through the void.
Propulsion capabilities[]
- Enhanced impulse engines that can attain sub-light velocities of 0.95c and faster-than-light velocities of Warp 1.2, allowing the ship to escape supernovas if the warp drive unexpectedly goes offline.
- An enhanced maneuvering thruster array with retro-thrusters, which exponentially increased the ship's sub-light agility despite its size.
- A Khronnian enhanced warp drive that allows it to travel at a normal cruise speed of Warp 8.5 and a top sustained speeds of Warp 9.5.
- A quantum slipstream drive that allows the ship to travel 300 light years in an hour, though in 10 hour bursts every 6 hours only due to the ship's configuration.
Other capabilities[]
- Bio-neural circuitry, which could process information more efficiently, and therefore speed up computer response time.
- Advanced holodecks.
- An Industrial replicator that could produce starship parts for repair and standard torpedo components for construction.
- A full Long-term Holographic Program Package composed of:
- 2 Mark-III Long-term Command and Navigation Holograms (LCNH)
- 3 Mark-III Long-term Security and Tactical Holograms (LSTH); 1 Hirogen, 1 Gorn, 1 Pahkwa-thanh
- 3 Mark-III Long-term Engineering Holograms (LEH)
- 2 Mark-IX Long-term Medical Holograms (LMH)
- 2 Mark-III Long-term Health Care Holograms (LHCH)
- 2 Mark-III Long-term Science Holograms (LSH)
Task Force Paladin[]
The USS Bat'leth was placed under the command of Captain Worf and attached to Task Force Paladin, the mobile arm of Iota Leonis Command, operating in the far end of the Beta Quadrant, with headquarters at Starbase 185. Task Force Paladin and Iota Leonis Command were under the overall flag command of Rear Admiral William Riker. The USS Bat'leth was designated as the secondary flagship of Task Force Paladin, assigned to lead Strike Group Two.
Condition Green[]
During Condition Green, the USS Bat'leth would travel with one Saber-class Fast Frigate and one Merian-class Fast Frigate
Condition Yellow[]
During Condition Yellow, the USS Bat'leth would serve as the flagship of Mission Group Bravo and was accompanied by the Prometheus-class Assault Cruiser USS Peleus, one Norway-class Heavy Frigate, one Intrepid-class Light Cruiser, two Saber-class Fast Frigates, two Merian-class Fast Frigates, two Diligent-class Tactical Frigates, and two Defiant-class Tactical Frigates.
Condition Red[]
During Condition Red-1, the USS Bat'leth would serve as the flagship of Strike Group Two and was accompanied by the Luna-class Heavy Cruiser USS Gallatea, one Akira-class Heavy Cruiser, the Prometheus-class Assault Cruiser USS Telamon , one Intrepid-class Light Cruiser, three Norway-class Heavy Frigates, four Merian-class Fast Frigates, six Saber-class Fast Frigates, and six Defiant-class Tactical Frigates.
