Vanguard Command[]

The USS Brave was launched from Coronalis Frontier Fleet Yards in 2384 and commissioned in 2385 as part of Vanguard Command.

As part of Vanguard Command, the USS Brave's capabilities included:

Offensive capabilities[]

Defensive capabilities[]

  • A transporter-welded duranium-tritanium-tetraburnium alloy space frame that can withstand extreme combat and propulsion stresses.
  • Enhanced and redundant structural integrity fields, which exponentially increased the ship's ability to maintain the integrity and shape of hulls and bulkheads against the extreme stresses caused by warp fields, weapons, and other motion.
  • Ablative hull armor, which rapidly dissipates the energy impacts from directed energy weapon fire and makes the ship endure massive weapons fire even after its shield have been overpowered.
  • Ablative generators, which generated a nearly-impenetrable layer of armor around the hull of the ship.
  • Enhanced, regenerative, redundant, reinforced, multiphasic, multispectrum, unimatrix defensive shields, which protects the ship from energy weapons and torpedoes for an exponentially longer duration and makes the ship's hull capable of withstanding extremes of temperature and pressure.
  • Microdiffracted carbon hull coating that absorbs all visible radiation that fell upon it, making it as black as the space it moved through.
  • A sensor stealth system, which masked the ship's warp signature and helped avoid detection during covert operations. Custom-designed warp coil insulators reduced its energy signature almost to nil. As long as radio silence was maintained, the ship could cruise unnoticed through interstellar space.

Propulsion capabilities[]

  • Enhanced impulse engines, which can attain sub-light velocities of 0.95c and faster-than-light velocities of Warp 1.2, at "super impulse" bursts, allowing the ship to escape supernovas if the warp drive unexpectedly goes offline.
  • An enhanced maneuvering thruster array with retro-thrusters, which exponentially increased the ship's sub-light agility despite its size.
  • A Khronnian enhanced warp drive, which allows the ship to travel at a normal cruise speed of Warp 8.5 and a top sustained speed of Warp 9.5.
  • A quantum slipstream drive, which allows the ship to travel 300 light years in an hour.

Other capabilities[]

Coronalis Command and Station Frontier[]

The USS Brave was outfitted with a quantum slipstream drive in late 2384, allowing it to travel 300 light years in one hour. Its first mission was to lay a series of subspace relay stations along a nearly straight line between Starbase 514 and the terminus of the Bajoran wormhole in the Gamma Quadrant. The ship's new microdiffracted carbon hull coating technology gave it the capacity to travel undetected over vast distances. The ship later returned to the Alpha Quadrant through the wormhole.

Thereafter, the USS Brave was designated as lead ship of the Station Frontier Defense Task Force, which was assigned to protect Station Frontier, the headquarters of Vanguard Command and Coronalis Command.

The USS Brave was also designated as the personal flagship of Admiral Anastassia Folonova in her capacity as Deputy Flag Officer-in-Command of Vanguard Command, but it was directly commanded by Captain Samuel Freeman, who was the Deputy Base Commander of Station Frontier and Fleet Captain of the Station Frontier Defense Task Force and Station Frontier Support Task Force, jointly.
