The USS Dominant was a Typhoon-class starship under the command of Commander Rixx Broht in 2409, assigned to the Marduk Carrier Battle Group under Admiral Amnell Kree.
History[]
The Dominant was part of the first production series of twelve Typhoon-class battleships constructed. She was launched in 2394 under the command of Captain Piotr Krzyzewski and assigned to the Alpha Centauri Fleet Area under Vice Admiral Stephanie Thatcher. Over the next several years Krzyzewski commanded the Dominant in numerous skirmishes with rogue Romulan Star Navy remnant forces and Reman pirates.
The Dominant was rotated home for a scheduled overhaul in 2405 and Krzyzewski took it as a convenient time to retire to Poland. He requested that Starfleet Command instate his first officer Lieutenant Commander Rixx Broht as CO. Broht was approved and promoted, and after completing the overhaul the Dominant was deployed to the Klingon border.
The Dominant was assigned to Starfleet's relief expedition to the Hromi Cluster later that year as open war broke out with the Klingon Empire. During that mission Broht mission killed General Torg's flagship IKS HoSbatlh after an extended point-blank broadside duel while simultaneously disabling or destroying six Birds-of-Prey and a Vor'cha-class that attempted to aid her, and with the assistance of the USS Kyle Brennan and USS Abraham Lincoln forced the surviving Klingon ships into full retreat. Broht was awarded the Christopher Pike Medal of Valor, although this proved controversial as some at Starfleet Command considered the tactic a reckless gamble rather than something worth rewarding. Nevertheless, he had attracted the attention of Admiral Amnell Kree at Command and she began to watch his career and the Dominant with interest.
Following some yard time after the Hromi Campaign, the Dominant was assigned to the Eta Eridani Fleet Area out of Deep Space K-7 and would patrol the border for the next three years, fighting in over thirty skirmishes against the Klingon Defense Force.
In 2408 Amnell Kree formed the Marduk Carrier Battle Group around the USS Marduk prototype, and requested that the Dominant and Commander Broht be assigned to her command.

The Dominant first appeared in StarSword-C's Star Trek Online Foundry mission "Bait and Switch", of which his story Bait and Switch is a novelization. Due to game limitations it could appear as a Typhoon-class class, a Regent-class, or (rarely) a Prometheus-class.
