The USS Kratos is a Luna-class Heavy Cruiser in active service in the late 24th century.

The Luna class Heavy Cruiser USS Kratos.
Vanguard Command[]
The USS Kratos was launched in 2384 from the Coronalis Frontier Fleet Yards and was commissioned in 2385 as part of the Vanguard Fleet, the mobile arm of Vanguard Command.
As part of Vanguard Command, the USS Kratos capabilities included:
Offensive capabilities[]
- Type-XII phaser arrays.
- Mark-X pulse phaser cannons.
- The capacity to launch quantum torpedoes and transphasic torpedoes, the latter only as a last resort.
- A full payload of Khronnian enhanced high-yield photon torpedoes, which were almost powerful as quantum torpedoes.
- A hybrid weapons-sensors mission pod that provides an additional 6 Type-X collimated phaser arrays and 2 variable-use torpedo launchers to its onboard armament.
Defensive capabilities[]
- Ablative hull armor, which rapidly dissipates the energy impacts from directed energy weapon fire.
- Ablative generators, which generated a nearly-impenetrable layer of armor around the hull of the ship.
- Enhanced, regenerative, redundant, reinforced, multiphasic, multispectrum, unimatrix defensive shields, which protects the ship from energy weapons and torpedoes for an exponentially longer duration and makes the ship's hull capable of withstanding extremes of temperature and pressure.
- Microdiffracted carbon hull coating that absorbs all visible radiation that fell upon it, making it as black as the space it moved through.
- A sensor stealth system, which masked the ship's warp signature and helped avoid detection during covert operations. Custom-designed warp coil insulators reduced its energy signature almost to nil. As long as radio silence was maintained, the ship could cruise unnoticed through interstellar space.
Propulsion capabilities[]
- Enhanced impulse engines, which can attain sub-light velocities of 0.95c and faster-than-light velocities of Warp 1.2, allowing the ship to escape supernovas if the warp drive unexpectedly goes offline.
- An enhanced maneuvering thruster array with retro-thrusters, which exponentially increased the ship's sub-light agility despite its size.
- A quantum slipstream drive, which allows the ship to travel 300 light years in an hour.
- A Khronnian enhanced warp drive that allows it to travel at a normal cruise speed of Warp 8.5 and a top sustained speed of Warp 9.5.
Other capabilities[]
- Bio-neural circuitry, which could process information more efficiently, and therefore speed up computer response time.
- Advanced holodecks for scientific and engineering uses and for crew recreation.
- A compact Industrial replicator that could produce starship parts and standard torpedo components for construction.
- A full Long-term Holographic Program Package composed of:
- 1 Mark-III Long-term Command and Navigation Hologram (LCNH)
- 1 Mark-III Long-term Security and Tactical Hologram (LSTH), a Pahkwa-thanh
- 2 Mark-III Long-term Engineering Holograms (LEH)
- 1 Mark-IX Long-term Medical Hologram (LMH)
- 1 Mark-III Long-term Health Care Hologram (LHCH)
- 1 Mark-III Long-term Science Hologram (LSH)
Auxiliary craft[]
The USS Kratos has an auxiliary craft complement composed of:
- Two Yellowstone-class runabouts
- Four Flyer-class heavy shuttlecrafts
- Four Type-11 medium shuttlecrafts
- Two Type-9 light shuttlecrafts
Task Force Perseverance[]
In 2385, the USS Kratos was the Luna-class Heavy Cruiser assigned to Task Force Perseverance, the special expeditionary force of Task Force Dauntless, the mobile arm of Abraxis Command, operating in the Gamma Quadrant from its sector headquarters at Deep Space Gamma-01. Task Force Perseverance was under the flag command of Rear Admiral Adnan Kaplan, while both Task Force Dauntless and Abraxis Command were under the overall command of Vice Admiral Razal Gibran
Condition Green[]
Under Condition Green, the USS Kratos would travel with the Intrepid-class Light Cruiser USS Moribus.

Condition Yellow[]
Under Condition Yellow, the USS Kratos would serve as the flagship of Mission Group Bravo, which was composed of the Hephaestus-class Support Carrier USS Hephaestus, the Prometheus-class Assault Cruiser USS Kheshig, the Steamrunner-class Heavy Frigate USS Hatamoto, and the Merian-class Fast Frigate USS Bohr.

Condition Red[]
Under Condition Red-1, the USS Kratos was part of Strike Group One, which was composed of the five most tactically capable starships in the task force, led by the Vesta-class Command Cruiser USS Perseverance.
