The USS Kruger was a 24th century Federation Yellowstone-class runabout operated by Starfleet.
Vanguard Command[]
Like all runabouts constructed for Vanguard Command, the Kruger's capabilities included:
- One multi-purpose emergency hologram
- Ablative hull armor and ablative armor plating
- Regenerative, redundant, and reinforced unimatrix shielding
- Uprated phaser arrays (Type-VIII)
- Pulse-phaser cannon assemblies
- A Khronnian enhanced warp drive that allows it to travel at normal cruise speeds of Warp 7, and cruise at top sustained speeds of Warp 8.5
- The capacity to launch quantum mini-torpedoes
Task Force Perseverance[]
The Kruger was one of four runabouts assigned to the Vesta-class Command Cruiser USS Perseverance as primary auxiliary crafts. The others were the USS Katmai, the USS Verunga and the USS Kunlun.
On occasions, when the Saber-class Fast Frigate USS Tori Tanto was required to accompany Strike Group One of the task force, the Kruger and the Katmai join the USS Tomahawk in replacing the former as protective escort to the Hephaestus-class Support Carrier USS Hephaestus in a rear position, far from the frontline.
