Vanguard Command[]

The USS Pilgrim was launched in 2384 from the Coronalis Frontier Fleet Yards and was commissioned in 2385 as part of the Vanguard Fleet, the mobile arm of Vanguard Command.

As part of Vanguard Command, the USS Pilgrim's capabilities included:

Type-XII phaser arrays.
Mark-X pulse phaser cannons.
The capacity to launch quantum torpedoes.
A full payload of Khronnian enhanced high-yield photon torpedoes, which were almost powerful as quantum torpedoes.

Enhanced and redundant structural integrity fields, which exponentially increases the ship's ability to maintain the integrity and shape of hulls and bulkheads against the extreme stresses caused by warp fields, weapons, and other motion.
Ablative hull armor, which rapidly dissipates the energy impacts from directed energy weapon fire.
Ablative generators, which generated a nearly-impenetrable layer of armor around the hull of the ship.
A tritanium and tetraburnium composite alloy hull.
Enhanced, regenerative, redundant, reinforced, multiphasic, multispectrum, unimatrix defensive shields, which protects the ship from energy weapons and torpedoes for an exponentially longer duration and makes the ship's hull capable of withstanding extremes of temperature and pressure.

In 2385, the USS Pilgrim was one of six Merian-class Fast Frigates assigned to Task Force Dauntless, the mobile arm of Abraxis Command, operating in the Gamma Quadrant from its sector headquarters at Deep Space Gamma-01. Task Force Dauntless and Abraxis Command were under the overall command of Vice Admiral Razal Gibran. The other ships were the USS Sleuth, the USS Errant, the USS Searcher, the USS Ranger, and the USS Sojourner

Under Condition Green, the USS Pilgrim was part of a 3-ship squadron led by the Prometheus-class Assault Cruiser USS Valor and the Defiant-class Tactical Frigate USS Lone Horn.

Under Condition Yellow, the USS Pilgrim was part of Mission Group Delta led by the Luna-class Heavy Cruiser USS Europa, together with the Akira-class Heavy Cruiser USS Glaive, the Prometheus-class Assault Cruiser USS Valor, the Norway-class Heavy Frigates USS Mercia and USS Flanders, the Saber-class Tactical Frigates USS Phalanx, and USS Guardian, the Merian-class Fast Frigate USS Sojourner, the Saber-class Fast Frigates USS Cavalier and USS Advocate, and the Defiant-class Tactical Frigates USS Tecumseh, and the USS Lone Horn.
