Vanguard Command[]

The USS Pursuer was launched in 2384 from the Coronalis Frontier Fleet Yards and was commissioned in 2385 as part of the Vanguard Fleet, the mobile arm of Vanguard Command.

As part of Vanguard Command, the USS Pursuer's capabilities included:

Offensive capabilities[]

Defensive capabilities[]

  • Enhanced and redundant structural integrity fields, which exponentially increased the ship's ability to maintain the integrity and shape of hulls and bulkheads against the extreme stresses caused by warp fields, weapons, and other motion.
  • Ablative hull armor, which rapidly dissipates the energy impacts from directed energy weapon fire and makes the ship endure massive weapons fire even after its shield have been overpowered.
  • Ablative generators, which generated a nearly-impenetrable layer of armor around the hull of the ship.
  • Enhanced, regenerative, redundant, reinforced, multiphasic, multispectrum, unimatrix defensive shields, which protects the ship from energy weapons and torpedoes for an exponentially longer duration and makes the ship's hull capable of withstanding extremes of temperature and pressure.
  • Microdiffracted carbon hull coating that absorbs all visible radiation that fell upon it, making it as black as the space it moved through.
  • A sensor stealth system, which masked the ship's warp signature and helped avoid detection during covert operations. Custom-designed warp coil insulators reduced its energy signature almost to nil. As long as radio silence was maintained, the ship could cruise unnoticed through interstellar space.

Propulsion capabilities[]

  • Enhanced impulse engines that can attain sub-light velocities of 0.95c and faster-than-light velocities of Warp 1.2, allowing the ship to escape supernovas if the warp drive unexpectedly goes offline.
  • An enhanced maneuvering thruster array with retro-thrusters which exponentially increased the ship's agility.
  • A Khronnian enhanced warp drive that allows it to travel at normal cruise speeds of Warp 8.5, and cruise at top sustained speeds of Warp 9.5.
  • A quantum slipstream drive that allows the ship to travel 300 light years in an hour, in 10 hour bursts every 6 hours.

Other capabilities[]

Task Force Dauntless[]

In 2385, the USS Pursuer was one of four Intrepid-class Light Cruisers assigned to Task Force Dauntless, the mobile arm of Abraxis Command, operating in the Gamma Quadrant from its sector headquarters at Deep Space Gamma-01. Both task force and sector command were under the flag command of Vice Admiral Razal Gibran. The other ships were the USS Starchaser, the USS Pioneer, and the USS Illion.

Condition green[]

Under Condition Green, the USS Pursuer led a squadron composed of the Defiant-class Tactical Frigate USS Geronimo and the Norway-class Heavy Frigate USS Bohemia.

Condition yellow[]

Under Condition Yellow, the USS Pursuer was part of Mission Group Alpha led by the Katana-class Command Battleship USS Dauntless, together with the Prometheus-class Assault Cruiser USS Gallant, the Intrepid-class Light Cruiser USS Pursuer, the Saber-class Fast Frigates USS Sentinel and USS Protector, the Defiant-class Tactical Frigates USS Raging Bull and USS Geronimo, and the Valiant-class Tactical Corvettes USS Machete and USS Dagger.
