The USS Rogue was a Prometheus-class Assault Cruiser in active service to Starfleet during the late 24th century.
Vanguard Command[]
The USS Rogue was one of the starships launched in 2384 from the Coronalis Frontier Fleet Yards and was commissioned in 2385 as part of the Tenth Fleet, also known as the Vanguard Fleet, mobile arm of Vanguard Command.
As part of Vanguard Command, the USS Rogue capabilities included:
Offensive capabilities[]
- Type-XII phaser arrays.
- Mark-XII pulse phaser cannons.
- The capacity to launch quantum torpedoes and transphasic torpedoes, the latter only as a last resort.
- A full payload of Khronnian enhanced high-yield photon torpedoes, which were almost powerful as standard quantum torpedoes.
- One combat-modified Venture-class scout ship for reconnaissance and black ops missions.
Defensive capabilities[]
- Ablative hull armor, which rapidly dissipates the energy impacts from directed energy weapon fire and makes the ship endure massive weapons fire even after its shield have been overpowered.
- Ablative generators, which generated a nearly-impenetrable layer of armor around the hull of the ship.
- Enhanced, regenerative, redundant, reinforced, multiphasic, multispectrum, unimatrix defensive shields, which protects the ship from energy weapons and torpedoes for an exponentially longer duration and makes the ship's hull capable of withstanding extremes of temperature and pressure.
- Microdiffracted carbon hull coating that absorbs all visible radiation that fell upon it, making it as black as the space it moved through.
- A sensor stealth system which masked the ship's warp signature and helped avoid detection during covert operations. Custom-designed warp coil insulators reduced its energy signature almost to nil. As long as radio silence was maintained, the ship could cruise unnoticed through interstellar space.
- Advanced external holographic emitters, which give the ship the ability to alter its appearance by disguising itself as another object, such as an asteroid.
Propulsion capabilities[]
- Enhanced impulse engines that can attain sub-light velocities of 0.95c and faster-than-light velocities of Warp 1.2, allowing the ship to escape supernovas if the warp drive unexpectedly goes offline.
- An enhanced maneuvering thruster array with retro-thrusters, which exponentially increased the ship's sub-light agility despite its size.
- A Khronnian enhanced warp drive that allows it to travel at a normal cruise speed of Warp 8.5 and a top sustained speed of Warp 9.5.
- A quantum slipstream drive that allows the ship to travel 300 light years in an hour.
Other capabilities[]
- Bio-neural circuitry, which could process information more efficiently, and therefore speed up computer response time.
- Advanced holodecks for scientific and engineering researchers and for crew recreation.
- A compact Industrial replicator that could produce starship parts for repair and standard torpedo components for construction.
- Tractor rigs, which enhanced tractor beam strength by tethering the tractor beams to probes that could be attached to other objects, such as other starships.
- A full Long-term Holographic Program Package composed of:
- 3 Mark-III Long-term Command and Navigation Holograms (LCNH)
- 3 Mark-III Long-term Security and Tactical Holograms (LSTH); 1 Hirogen, 1 Gorn, 1 Pahkwa-thanh
- 3 Mark-III Long-term Engineering Holograms (LEH)
- 3 Mark-IX Long-term Medical Holograms (LMH)
Task Force Rogue[]
Upon its commissioning, the USS Rogue was subsequently made the flagship of Task Force Rogue, the special unit of the Vanguard Fleet, which focused on clandestine operations, rapid response and special missions, under the flag command of Rear Admiral James Kirk. Direct command of the ship was given to Captain Jade Kirk, his great-great grand-niece, who was also designated Fleet Captain.
When on missions, the ships of Task Force Rogue do not travel in one formation. They are split into two loose groups of three ships each, moving in one direction but travelling far enough from each other to avoid suspicion. First Squadron was led by the USS Rogue and escorted by the Saber-class Fast Frigate USS Boyar and the Defiant-class Tactical Frigate USS Wovoka.
