The USS Valor was a Prometheus-class Assault Cruiser in active service to Starfleet during the late 24th century.
Vanguard Command[]
The USS Valor was launched from Coronalis Frontier Fleet Yards in 2384 and commissioned in 2385 as part of the Vanguard Fleet, the mobile arm of Vanguard Command.
As part of Vanguard Command, the USS Valor's was extensively refitted to possess the following capabilities:
Offensive capabilities[]
- Type-XII phaser arrays.
- Mark-XII pulse phaser cannons.
- The capacity to launch quantum torpedoes and transphasic torpedoes, the latter only as a last resort.
- A full payload of Khronnian enhanced high-yield photon torpedoes, which were almost powerful as standard quantum torpedoes.
Defensive capabilities[]
- A transporter-welded duranium-tritanium-tetraburnium alloy space frame that can withstand extreme combat and propulsion stresses.
- Enhanced and redundant structural integrity fields, which exponentially increased the ship's ability to maintain the integrity and shape of hulls and bulkheads against the extreme stresses caused by warp fields, weapons, and other motion.
- Ablative hull armor, which rapidly dissipates the energy impacts from directed energy weapon fire and makes the ship endure massive weapons fire even after its shield have been overpowered.
- Ablative generators, which generated a nearly-impenetrable layer of armor around the hull of the ship.
- Enhanced, regenerative, redundant, reinforced, multiphasic, multispectrum, unimatrix defensive shields, which protects the ship from energy weapons and torpedoes for an exponentially longer duration and makes the ship's hull capable of withstanding extremes of temperature and pressure.
- Microdiffracted carbon hull coating that absorbs all visible radiation that fell upon it, making it as black as the space it moved through.
- A sensor stealth system, which masked the ship's warp signature and helped avoid detection during covert operations. Custom-designed warp coil insulators reduced its energy signature almost to nil. As long as radio silence was maintained, the ship could cruise unnoticed through interstellar space.
Propulsion capabilities[]
- Enhanced impulse engines, which can attain sub-light velocities of 0.95c and faster-than-light velocities of Warp 1.2, at "super impulse" bursts, allowing the ship to escape supernovas if the warp drive unexpectedly goes offline.
- An enhanced maneuvering thruster array with retro-thrusters, which exponentially increased the ship's sub-light agility despite its size.
- A Khronnian enhanced warp drive, which allows the ship to travel at a normal cruise speed of Warp 8.5 and a top sustained speed of Warp 9.5.
- A quantum slipstream drive, which allows the ship to travel 300 light years in an hour.
Other capabilities[]
- Bio-neural circuitry, which could process information more efficiently, and therefore speed up computer response time.
- Advanced holodecks for scientific and engineering research and for crew recreation.
- A compact Industrial replicator that could produce starship parts for repair and standard torpedo components for construction.
- A full Long-term Holographic Program Package composed of:
- 3 Mark-III Long-term Command and Navigation Holograms (LCNH)
- 3 Mark-III Long-term Security and Tactical Holograms (LSTH); 1 Hirogen, 1 Gorn, 1 Pahkwa-thanh
- 3 Mark-III Long-term Engineering Holograms (LEH)
- 3 Mark-IX Long-term Medical Holograms (LMH)
Task Force Dauntless[]
In 2385, the USS Valor was one of two Prometheus-class starships assigned to Task Force Dauntless. The other ship was USS Gallant. Task Force Dauntless was the mobile arm of Abraxis Command, operating in the Gamma Quadrant from its sector headquarters at Deep Space Gamma-01. Both task force and sector command were under the flag command of Vice Admiral Razal Gibran. The other ship was the USS Gallant.
Condition green[]
Under Condition Green, the USS Valor forms a 3-ship squadron with the Merian-class Fast Frigate USS Pilgrim and the Defiant-class Tactical Frigate USS Lone Horn.
Condition yellow[]
Under Condition Yellow, the USS Valor was part of Mission Group Delta, led by the Luna-class Heavy Cruiser USS Europa, together with the Akira-class Heavy Cruiser USS Glaive, the Norway-class Heavy Frigates USS Mercia and USS Flanders, the Saber-class Tactical Frigates USS Phalanx, and USS Guardian, the Merian-class Fast Frigates USS Sojourner and USS Pilgrim, Saber-class Fast Frigates USS Cavalier and USS Advocate, and the Defiant-class Tactical Frigates USS Tecumseh, and the USS Lone Horn.
Condition red[]
Under Condition Red-1, the USS Valor was part of Strike Group Two, led by the Vesta-class Command Cruiser USS Actium, together with the Luna-class Heavy Cruiser USS Europa, the Akira-class Heavy Cruiser USS Glaive, the Steamrunner-class Heavy Frigates USS Blackbeard and USS Hornigold, the Norway-class Heavy Frigates USS Mercia and USS Flanders, the Intrepid-class Light Cruisers USS Illion and USS Pioneer, the Saber-class Fast Frigates USS Phalanx, USS Guardian, USS Cavalier, and USS Advocate, the Merian-class Fast Frigates USS Errant, USS Searcher, USS Pilgrim, and USS Sojourner, and the Defiant-class Tactical Frigates USS Sitting Bull, USS Logan, USS Tecumseh, and USS Lone Horn.
