The USS Wovoka is a Defiant-class Tactical Frigate in active service to Starfleet during the late 24th century.
Vanguard Command[]
The USS Wovoka was launched from the Coronalis Frontier Fleet Yards in 2384, and was commissioned in 2385, together with all the other starships that were built during that period for attachment to Vanguard Command.
As part of Vanguard Command, the USS Wovoka's capabilities included:
Offensive capabilities[]
- Type-XIII phaser arrays, the most powerful type of phasers developed so far.
- Mark-XII pulse phaser cannons.
- A full payload of Khronnian enhanced high-yield photon torpedoes, which were almost powerful as quantum torpedoes.
- The capacity to launch quantum torpedoes and transphasic torpedoes, the latter only as a last resort.
Defensive capabilities[]
- Interlocking duranium-tritanium-tetraburnium poly-alloy space frame and hull.
- Enhanced and redundant structural integrity fields, which exponentially increases the ship's ability to maintain the integrity and shape of hulls and bulkheads against the extreme stresses caused by warp fields, weapons, and other motion.
- Redundant and regenerative Ablative hull armor, which rapidly dissipates the energy impacts from directed energy weapon fire and makes the ship endure massive weapons fire even after its shield have been overpowered.
- Ablative generators, which generate a nearly-impenetrable layer of armor around the hull of the ship.
- Enhanced, regenerative, redundant, reinforced, multiphasic, multispectrum, unimatrix defensive shields, which protect the ship from energy weapons and torpedoes for an exponentially longer duration and make the ship's hull capable of withstanding extremes of temperature and pressure.
- Microdiffracted carbon hull coating, which absorbs all visible radiation that fell upon it, making it as black as the space it moved through.
- A sensor stealth system, which masks the ship's warp signature and helps avoid detection during covert operations. Custom-designed warp coil insulators reduced its energy signature almost to zero. As long as radio silence was maintained, the ship could cruise unnoticed through interstellar space.
- Advanced external holographic emitters, which give the ship the ability to alter its appearance by disguising itself as another object, such as an asteroid.
Propulsion capabilities[]
- Enhanced impulse engines that can attain sub-light velocities of 0.95c and faster-than-light velocities of Warp 1.2, allowing the ship to escape supernovas if the warp drive would unexpectedly go offline.
- An enhanced maneuvering thruster array with retro-thrusters which exponentially increased the ship's agility.
- A Khronnian enhanced warp drive that allows it to travel at a normal cruise speed of Warp 8.5 and a top sustained speeds of Warp 9.5.
- A quantum slipstream drive that allows the ship to travel 300 light years in an hour, though in 10 hour bursts every 6 hours only.
Other capabilities[]
- Bio-neural circuitry, which could process information more efficiently, and therefore speed up computer response time.
- An advanced holosuite for scientific and engineering uses and for crew recreation.
- Tractor rigs, which enhance tractor beam strength by tethering the tractor beams to probes that could be attached to other objects, such as starships.
- More powerful and additional fusion reactors
- More powerful and advanced computer cores
- A full Emergency Holographic Program Package composed of:
- 1 Mark-III Emergency Command and Conn Hologram (ECCH)
- 1 Mark-III Emergency Security and Tactical Hologram (ESTH)
- 1 Mark-IX Emergency Engineering Hologram (EEH)
- 1 Mark-III Emergency Medical Hologram (EMH)
Task Force Rogue[]
The USS Wovoka was one of two Defiant-class Fast Frigates assigned to Task Force Rogue, led by the Prometheus-class Assault Cruiser USS Rogue, under the flag command of Rear Admiral James Kirk and the tactical command of Fleet Captain Jade Kirk. The other ship was the USS Pontiac.
The USS Wovoka would join Task Force Rogue in responding to imminent crisis situations, or engaging in clandestine or black ops missions.
When on missions, the ships of Task Force Rogue do not travel in one formation. They are split into two loose groups of three ships each. First Squadron was led by the USS Rogue, which the USS Wovoka and the Saber-class Fast Frigate USS Boyar were part of.
