Wirrpanda was born on the Federation colony of Sagara IV in the Delta Volanis Cluster in 2383 to Australian emigres Harrison and Avina Wirrpanda. His first name was an Australian Aborigine word for the dingo. He disliked his childhood nickname "Warry" and insisted on being called by the full name as an adolescent.
